I Love Thursday #134 – Blessings Galore
This is the 134th post of things we love for the week. We post these loves each Thursday along with LeeAnna on her blog at Not Afraid of Color. Several additional friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out. You will surely find something to inspire you.
Love #1
Hyacinths! Our hyacinth bulbs have just started blooming. If it would ever stop raining, perhaps I’d be able to enjoy all the daffodil and hyacinth blossoms at one time along with our pretty green grass. No real complaints though as we have missed a few late snowstorms by mere miles. Can’t you just imagine how nice these smell . . . And then, wham! Last Friday morning the sun came out, the robins were searching for worms, and the grass was a beautiful contrast to the daffodils and hyacinth bulbs. We even had a storm door free from recent lick marks made by Dominic and Addison. ~smile~
Love #2
Smirnoff Ice Pomegranate Fusion! Sue and I don’t drink often but right there in the refrigerator door was this nice chilled bottle of Smirnoff Ice. While I prefer the original version the best, this Pomegranate Fusion version went down nice and smooth. Plus, now there’s an empty space in the door. A win-win all around.
Love #3
Colt received a sweet onesie from our friend, Rosalie, that says, “Daddy’s backup” with a police car. Daddy thought he should try on a Cubs hat on our sweet pea – he needs to grow a bit before he can wear it full-time. Auntie Rose got a chance to hold, feed, and burp little Colt. In the end, the aunties were boring and we put him to sleep.
Love #4
Dominic and Addison discovered that when they visit our home, they get a chance to watch Elmo laying on Auntie Sue’s bed. It nice and comfy, worthy of laying on your tummy! After that, it was time to pile on Auntie Sue while waiting for momma and daddy. The next morning, the car seats were in the kitchen. That’s new – but they ralied and asked to go bye-bye. Just buckle us in, please!
Gamma came over for Mother’s Day and was holding that baby, a.k.a. Baby Colt. It was a wonderful day for Gamma! Addi says Happy Day in her new fetching purple outfit. This cool box arrived via the mailman just begging to be colored. Addison finds it best to sit on the box to color, and lay across the box to reach the markers. She’s probably surprised she is allowed to HAVE markers. Whatever works best for you sweet babies! ♥ ♥ ♥

The aroma of hyacinths is heavenly. I do miss that – they wouldn’t last 10 minutes with all the critters around here! Hmmm – that Smirnoff sounds interesting – did you mix it with anything or just put it over ice? Your kiddos are growing up fast!
The kids are so cute! I love seeing them each week! And your hyacinths are so pretty. We’ve had lots of rain here, and there is a giant mudbath in the backyard where the dogs have worn a path from the house to the corner where they like to bark at things walking by but the rest of the grass is nice and green. My sister is saving me pavers, so I hope to be able to put down a paver-path where they’ve killed the grass.
Love to read your commentary on the photos of the kiddies. So cute. Nothing like it and I was wondering if they will keep that gorgeous blond hair. Robbie still has his and he is 6 now.
My garden flowers have survived the cold; how hardy they must be!
Awwww, such sweet blessings, just love the kiddos and the many aspects of their personalities you capture! Colt is getting so big!!! Have a wonderful week and hope spring actually arrives there soon! Hyacinths are a good sign!
What lovely hyacinths! I love bulb flowers! Those kids are growing like weeds, and we can tell they are loved! My adult beverage of choice is red wine, but I do better when I limit it because I tend to lose all interest in making healthy choices if I don’t. Take care, Mary.
I’ve never seen a neat box like that! How perfect for the little ones to get creative! FUN FUN FUN!!!
Love the little ones’ slide shows…made my week again! Gotta get me a pair of those owl jammies…I think I could rock them, maybe not as well as Addison, but still…
Yay for the kid slides. Cole looks so sweet. I literally laughed at the licked storm door. Way to go on cleaning out the fridge. Heehee
Love your loves! And don’t the hyacinths smell lovely!!!
I’d say you aunties are magic, because you can put Cole to sleep! 😁 My MIL was always like that with our babies, too! Isn’t this a great time of year when things are starting to bloom and the grass is nice and green? I love it, too. I bet your hyacinths will get prettier and prettier!
What a joyful weekful of pictures. All the littles in there having fun. And such beautiful flowers. Spring is springing out! Enjoy.
Hello Roseanne, Your post was filled with love today! Family, Kiddos and flowers what a great combination. We had a couple of very nice days in the 90’s actually, weeds were pulled in several of the flower beds and I was already to go out and start planting some new seeds and bulbs. The next morning and up until now, it has been raining and cold once again. LOL. I will not complain about the rain, we need every drop. I am so glad that I found your blog and get to read all about whatever it is you decide to share! You are a fabulous person, Roseanne! Have a great day!!!
Okay I know it’s because I did 50 hours of intensive yoga course last week but being a yoga teacher I tend to notice these things: look at how the kids are sitting there, all yoga poses!! and we as adults need to be doing them as well to save our hips and knees. Can never go wrong with hyacinths 🙂
Hyacinths are pretty! Yay for some sun and temperate weather.
Spring, it’s lovely, finally warmed up and I planted bedding plants yesterday. Yes, children love markers but be especially careful with the red one. It takes 7 coats of paint to cover that up, guess how I know!
Hi Roseanne – so much to be thankful for! Those kiddos are getting so big I almost didn’t recognize Addison! And I LOVE your bottle opener! I seem to remember having one of those in our house back in the day. And can I just say I am grateful for the continuation of the seasons. The flowers and robins remind me that everything will be all right! Have a wonderful weekend hopefully with a few lick marks on the screen door!
my hyacinths are a memory I think they bloomed 6 weeks ago, they are so pretty. You and Sue have some delightful children visit!
Thanks for my Thursday dose of your family photos and musings…
Yay on the hyacinths – any flowers are welcome right now, right?! We are having rain today, so our flowers should start going gangbusters soon, I hope. Kiddos are cute as always!
Spring! I love the smells and I think today will be the first sign of many gorgeous days to come. I did see 80’s on the forecast, but I can’t believe it. Addison’s hair is getting long! They are adorable and have such a great time with you!
I only had a couple of sad hyacinths a few years ago. I think the cluckers destroyed them. I had a couple of nice days, got a little yard work done after work. My day off, it is either cold, or raining. Yum adult beverages! Glad you had a slobber free storm door. Cute onesie on Colt, he is getting big so fast. Addison and Dominick are adorable as usual, love Addison’s outfit. Very cute. Great likes.
