I Love Thursday #135 – Abounding Blessings
This is the 135th post of things we love for the week. We post these loves each Thursday along with LeeAnna on her blog at Not Afraid of Color. Several additional friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out. You will surely find something to inspire you.
Happy Mail! Chris from Chris Knits Sews sent over a surprising gift for me. She made a beautiful disappearing nine-patch quilt and had two blocks left over. She wisely used up those blocks right away, into a gorgeous pouch. I had to share both sides of the pouch as one has her nifty label on it!
The colors in these photos do not relay how elegant it is in person. Chris also sent over this delicate pouch for Sue featuring these realistic-looking butterflies.
It was so sweet of Chris to include Sue in the goodies. She said she deserved one because she keeps me in line. Oh, if she only knew the truth! HAHAHAHA! One of the coolest things about both pouches is that they stand on their own! And they have beaded zipper pulls – oh so special to be reminded of a good friend. And she has inspired me to finally use a disappearing nine-patch quilt kit that has been hanging around way too long. Thank you, Chris!
Dumber than a pigeon! This social distancing photo made me chuckle. The caption said, “Imagine being dumber than a pigeon.” Yeah, I would definitely tell the red-shirted person to back up and stand in the circle. That’s why they are there . . . Geez!
Hearts for heroes! How about a little slide show showing some of the hearts that have been sprouting around our hometown? I thought they were too darn cute not to be shared.
The Milwaukee Brewers are represented in this baseball player hitting hearts with stitching similar to a baseball. That hit is surely a home run! Healthcare hearts are painted on rocks complete with a telemetry reading. Hearts surrounding the words, “Every little thing is going to be alright,” is a sentiment we all want to hear. Rainbow colors share the sentiment, “Better days to come.” And finally, the grocery store shares hearts for the heroes that work there.
Sweet baby Colt is growing like a weed and learning new things everyday. He loves spending time with his momma and daddy and taking a bath. Especially when he can wrap up in cute towels to dry off. And let’s not forget that bouncy seat – he adores that! ♥ ♥
We actually had some nice weather for a day or two, with no rain or anything. Whenever the weather allows, momma and daddy get the littles outside. This week, they enjoyed some bicycle and tricycle time. Daddy helped Dominic get his feet on the petals of his new bike with training wheels. He doesn’t quite have it down yet but I don’t expect it will be long. Addison hope on the tricycle like it was her day job. After a bit of riding, it was time for a boy and his daddy to take a walk around the block. ♥ ♥
The next day it was warm and there was the promise of a clear blue sky. Time to play in the backyard with the next best thing to a water park. Dominic was all decked out in his new trunks, swim shirt, and water shoes as was Addison. When it was no longer conducive to be outside, Dominic played with some new trucks from GG. Momma came up from starting some laundry and couldn’t find the littles. They were quietly playing nicely together underneath the living room window. Finally, a good ‘ole box arrived just in time for two babies to sit in it. The classic babies in a box. Love!
