I Love Thursday #143 – Bountiful Blessings
This is the 143rd post of things we love for the week. We post these loves each Thursday along with LeeAnna on her blog at Not Afraid of Color. Several additional friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out. You will surely find something to inspire you.
Love #1
Drive-in concert! Brad Paisley opened his summer concert series with a drive-in concert in the St. Louis, MO area. Isn’t that just the coolest?!! I used to LOVE going to the drive-in when I was a kid. How nice to be able to attend a musical concert . . . in the summer . . . and yet still be able to socially distance. Thank you, Brad Paisley. His team put a lot of work into this idea.
Love #2
Dubai says Happy Independence Day America! The tallest building in the world was lit like the American flag on July 4th. It’s nice to feel the support of our Dubai friends. What a sight that must have been!
Love #3
Baby Colt is four (FOUR!!!) months old already. How does that even happen so quickly?!! He is proudly wearing his Wisconsin Badgers garb.
Love #4
Auntie Rose and Auntie Sue had to call upon the help of Andrea and Gamma for the newest toy addition to our home. A Paw Patrol inflatable house complete with 50 (fifty!) balls found its way here for our littles. Gamma graciously loaned us her small compressor and Andrea supplied the muscle to fill ‘er up. It wasn’t long at all before our two biggest littles were enjoying it.
A VERY compelling episode of Elmo was on but playing inside the Paw Patrol house ensued in spite of that. Addison played with a flashlight to determine exactly where she could see the light and where she couldn’t. Dominic dumped over the toy basket only to enjoy a wooden spoon the most. Finally, when momma watches Baby Colt and everyone goes for a walk we have to double up when tired. Dominic and Addison thought it was fabulously funny to have to sit together in the double stroller. Late breaking news – Dominic learned to peddle his tricycle yesterday at Gamma’s house. That little girl was studying everything hard – she’ll be riding in no time!
Join us each Tuesday for our hosted linky party called To-Do Tuesday. Our other Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link above or along the sidebar on our website for more quilting fun – check out what our friends are up to. Like/follow us on our Facebook page and you can share your photos of what you’re working on. We would love to see them!
That’s quite a salute to us from Dubai! What cool grandparents you are with that house. Say goodbye to Dominic now that he can ride!
Such fun to see in this dark world.
I love the idea of a drive in concert. It’s something we can all enjoy during the pandemic. Colt is adorable and growing so fast! It’s nice for Dubai to think of the US!
So many awesome things. The building lit up! The outdoor concert! Colt OMG he is getting so grown up! Yay Dominic for learning to pedal, and the ball pit is awesome. We had one when the boys were small, in fact we actually had enough balls to fill a small room at one time. Picking them up sucked though. Have you seen the video of the guy that filled his house with ball pit balls?
That drive-in concert is such a cool idea! I love how people have been creative in thinking about different ways to do things during this crazy time. Happy 4 months to Colt – love the fun sign that tells all the important info. That Paw Patrol house looks like loads of fun! It will be a big draw for the kiddos to come over!
A drive-in concert is a BRILLIANT idea. And I love country music. I never met a kid that didn’t like blow-up houses, and even better with balls in them! Enjoy your weekend!
How funny my first thought when I saw the Brad Paisley concert was the good old drive in movies! Six kids in my family so we went on “car load” nights. I love his music and I bet it was a wonderful and fun time. And how fund that Dominick learned to peddle! Such a milestone. Great “loves” this week – not that they aren’t all great!
We have lots to be thankful for this week! Love the beautiful building lit up and the drive in concert fun. Take care!
Glad you enjoyed the drive in concert! It sounds like fun!
However, I think you’ve made a HUGE mistake … isn’t Colt just 4 weeks old, not 4 months? I’m almost positive he CANT be that old!
Enjoyed the picts of the littles!
What a fun-filled week for the littles. A new blow-up house!! Complete with balls. Isn’t it like kids, give them toys and they go for the wooden spoon or the cans in the cupboard. I remember drive-in theaters. Going to them was cheaper than the walk-ins ’cause no AC. All of the drive-in’s here have been demolished and gone to warehouse type stores. :<( Those pictures of Colt are so great. He smiles so nice in almost every photo. Have a great week!
So glad you got to go to the Brad Paisley concert! I enjoy so many of his songs, and haven’t listened to them in ages! I was reading about some people who went to the drive-in movies, and I feel like this is definitely an idea that is ripe for re-invigorating! The kids are so cute, and they grow so fast!
OMG! Colt almost looks grown up in that shot. LOL Wonderful memories!!
Drive ins are suddenly popular spots! I love how people are getting creative through this pandemic. The kids are adorable, as usual. 🙂
Interesting pics from the concert and Dubai! I think a drive in concert is something I would enjoy – don’t love the crowds at real ones. That playhouse with balls is adorable as are the kiddos and all their lovely antics. I’m coming to your house to play for sure!
You find the coolest stuff to post each week, and of course, my favorite is the littles gallery. That smile on Colt’s face is a heart-melter!
Colt is getting so BIG! Loved the inflatable house and the kids seem to be having so much fun! Thank you for sharing their delightful days with you!
I would say that was the best and safest way to do a concert – someone had some common sense!
I do believe I see some dimples on Colt?
So fifty balls found their way into how many places in the house after? LOL Sometimes I look at “play” design and wonder about the designer…but I’ll bet they had a blast!!! So cute, and I too love that update board for Colt, very clever indeed! Thank you for my weekly fix of the little ones…so sweet…
Love the idea of a drive-in concert! And how clever is that baby update board for Colt (what is it really called?). An inflatable house for the kids—you are best great aunties ever! Have a wonderful day, Mary.
