I Love Thursday #149 Beaucoup Bénédictions
This is the 149th post of things we love for the week. We post these loves each Thursday along with LeeAnna on her blog at Not Afraid of Color. Several additional friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out. You will surely find something to inspire you.
Dogs! I love dogs and I follow a few online. Bella the dachshund, and Rose the yellow retriever are two whose antics I enjoy. I also follow a blog with two cats, Molly and her long-suffering brother, Buddy. This meme made me laugh as I can just imagine this happening.
Reading! Sue and I both LOVE to read. The pandemic may have pushed us even more into that past time, but nevertheless, we read every single evening for at least 30 minutes. Dolly Parton has a free-book program that anyone can sign up for. All three littles are signed up and get a book in the mail every two months or so. Of course, my friend Amazon is happy to send them books as well. Whenever I feel the urge, I pop on their website and send a few to them. The mail person for Dominic and Addison is now asked if she has mail for them?! How sweet is that? She likes to be able to say, yes, I have a book for you. ♥ ♥ ♥
Baby Colt and tummy time. Colt has spent a little time over at Auntie Andrea’s house during the week. He JUST started to crawl and is really enjoying pulling on the tags on the Tummy Time quilt. While it was originally made for Addison, Colt loves to get ahold of those tags and give them a good yank or chew.
The Addster and her brother spent a family day at the Milwaukee Zoo last Friday. To say that Dominic enjoyed it is a huge understatement. Genuine awe was displayed as the rode the train, and he just stuck his head out the window to not miss anything. He loved the giraffe that he called a horse and especially the elephant. With his cup in hand, he was willing to stare down the big “horse” for hours.
Just to prove she was indeed present, Addison did sit on the bench next to a stone lady and her puppy. At least it didn’t lick her. She also rode on the train next to her daddy, quite safely. Most of the time, though, she was happy to ride in the stroller and enjoy a few snacks. Apparently, she isn’t big on smelly animals no matter how cool her brother thinks they are. Lastly, Addison says there is always room in momma’s chair even if it stacked with oodles of blankets to keep her out of it. Give that girl an inch . . . and she’ll take a mile.
Finally, why does our sweet boy think he can climb on the bouncy ball holding a spoon in his hand? Could you foresee the next photo?! He still had the darn spoon in his hand as he went down! We’ll have to give him a lesson on HOLDING the bouncy ball before you climb on so it doesn’t skitter away. His 18-month-old sister can, of course, climb onto anything without issue. Go figure.
Care and Hope. Those are the two focus words for my boss this year and she shared them during the opening-of-school Zoom message. These four-letter words are something I can hold on to, as well. They are trying to take care of all the staff and students as best as they’re able to, and still offer some hope for better things to come. There may be some movement between in-person and remote learning, but we’ll all get through it together. At least that’s the Hope, right?! Please take care and stay safe and healthy.
I’ll leave you with a giggle for the day. You can’t make this stuff up – someone actually printed a sign with this important message. Geez. Gotta love it, right?!
