I Love Thursday #160 Abundant Blessings
This is the 160th post of things we love for the week. We post these loves each Thursday along with LeeAnna on her blog at Not Afraid of Color. Several additional friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out. You will surely find something to inspire you.
Love #1
New Employee! During the Prime Day hoopla, I actually succumbed to shopping for the first time. I wasn’t really LOOKING for anything special as they weren’t featuring fabric, batting, or thread. I happened to see an iRobot and started thinking about that. Hmm. Of course, much further research was involved. In the end, I chose a Roborock mainly because of its good reviews.
Here is our new employee chasing Sue’s Mom. Seriously, wherever she sat it quickly followed to vacuum under her feet. I love our new employee! It does a suburb job, it can easily move from wood to vinyl, to carpet, and it knows when it is getting low on its battery charge. It has mapped the entire house plus I’ve figured out how to do zone cleaning. Plus, it has the option to do wet mopping although we probably won’t try that. I ask myself, why did I wait so long to jump on this bandwagon? We pick up rugs now just because, plus the wires underneath my sewing table get pulled taut. It got stuck the first time because I never thought about the wires – never fear, we could it out without an OSHA fine or warning.
Love #2
Aunt Jeanette! My Aunt turned 101 on Monday, November 9th. While we couldn’t gather together to celebrate her and her long life, we did send oodles of cards and messages. My cousin arrived at 9 am that Monday, and she was all ready for her complete with her pearls. She is an amazing woman that still has all of her facilities and lives alone.

Love #3
A few giggles! This cute little puppy’s face just reflects so well his annoyance with his peeps. I think there may be some days that I look like that, too, although now the mask hides it. There’s a good reason to wear a mask beyond the common-sense justification that we’re in the midst of a pandemic.

Oh, the card catalog. I remember fondly looking for reference materials all throughout my school career but especially during my younger days. I volunteered to work in the school library during middle school, returning books and reshelving them. I sure would like to get my hands on a small set of these just to use as a side table and to store treasures for our littles.
Love #4
SpaceX launch! The private business, SpaceX, launched its second space mission to the International Space Station. A crew of four astronauts departed Cape Canaveral, FL on Sunday. The crew named its capsule Resilience, which is quite fitting for this rocky 2020 year in many respects. One Japanese team member joins three Americans as the private company’s second team due to arrive on Monday after a 27.5 hour journey. The company is hoping to establish a regular rotation for launches, an potentially exciting possibility for science research. I would have LOVED to be able to join one of these teams when I was younger. Oh, the different path my life would have taken.

Love #5
Our littles! Baby Colt just turned 8-months-old and is such a joy to be around. He now officially weighs more than Addison. We’re trying to fatten that girl up! Colt shows Dominic that he can count his eyes, too. He’s just a bit more hands-on when counting! Colt and Addison can work together when it comes to enjoying Puffs. All is good, especially when there is enough for ALL and juice is nearby.
Addison LOVES using the shopping cart to move her babies around from location to location, like to her crib for a nap. Meanwhile, Dominic is very busy coloring with markers (Addison can’t use them because she puts them in her mouth). Shortly, big brother Dominic was able to ask, how can I help you with your cart, ma’am? I’ll assist you at any time – it’s my job. A good end to the day is a bath with bubbles. Addison is clearly in charge of the cup as noted by Dominic’s wet hair. I suspect, dear boy and brother-to-be, that it will remain that way for the rest of her life. We adore our littles.

Happy Thanksgiving! Many blessings to you and Sue and your beautiful family ❤️
Happy Birthday to your Aunt Jeanette! Just love seeing all your likes! The kiddos are getting so big!!! Hilarious photo of the kids in the tub, Dom does not look happy 😀 Have a wonderful weekend and stay safe!
A heart warming post…imagine that age to still be living on your own. Wow. Tony had one of those vacuums and really liked it…then he got me, LOL. It’s around here somewhere still which makes me think I should get it out. Loved those memes…I worked at the university library through my uni years-the card catalogue was part of life back then. Wonderful photos of those kiddies as always.
Happy Birthday, Aunt Jeanette! You look amazing and those pearls absolutely become you!! ❤🎂 We broke down and got a Roomba a couple of years ago. Don’t know what I did without it now too. We have a kitty and a very hairy dog. I’d have to vacuum daily if it wasn’t for Roomba. Have a great week!
Wow! That’s amazing with your aunt, 101 and still living alone! Never see that in my family! And thank you again for the littles update, always look forward to it! Colt is so expressive…just can’t help smiling when I see him. And Addison, you go girl, control the cup! Dominic, what can I say, that’s what little siblings are for, to teach patience LOL
Happy Birthday Aunt Jeanette!!! And Happy 8 Months Colt! All kinds of milestones there.
Your Auntie is absolutely stunning! With that smile she must be so much fun. 😉 I love your new assistant. Do you think I could justify having one in a 650 sq ft apartment? Ha ha. Such sweet little! Wasn’t the launch fun to watch? A nice bit of distraction from protected land in Alaska being auctioned off by the orange monster.
What a fun vacuum cleaner. I did lots of prehistoric Googling. lol. Dancing! Dancing is a great thing to be able to do! 🙂
Thanks for the lift to my evening, Roseanne!
Happy Birthday to the aunt she is gorgeous. I totally relate to the dog. One of my favorites, since I have chickens is in my head I have pecked you 8 times already. I have a metal former card catalog in my barn. Jeff converted it to a screw, nut and bolt holder. If I need a lynch pin or cotter pin it is in there. Wow Colt doesn’t look like he weighs as much as Addison. LOL Addison eating markers. Dominick is such a good sport with both Cold and Addison. I think about the IRobot, but then I think about the story about it going through a pile of dog poo and I have second thoughts. LOL
Let me know how you like the new vacuum. I’ve been thinking about getting one. Happy Birthday to your aunt. She looks great! Such adorable kids!
We love our robot vacuum – looks like you do, too, Roseanne! I love those big wooden card catalogue thingies. When they took out the one at the school where I taught, the librarian offered me a section of it, and I used it for storing all kinds of things in the classroom. Amazing that Colt is 8 months old already, and weighs more than Addison!
Love seeing the littles, and especially like Colt’s board!! Fun! I do remember those card catalogs from school. WOW, takes me back! I too want one of those robot cleaners!! It would save a lot of time cleaning after a big dog!!
it’s my dream to one day own a card catalogue for the studio organization! Your aunt was born during the last world wide viral pandemic! Two in one lifetime! I feel like the chihuahua looks
101! Congratulations and happy birthday to your Auntie. The littles are adorable, space x a thing of the future and your new employee is marvelous! Does s/he have a name? i have often been tempted by one.
May I just say your aunt is a YOUNG 101! So wonderful to be able to be living with all her faculties intact. Colt is a doll….and a hunk! I don’t think weighting more that Addison will help him if she wants to take charge, as she does with her brother. Love their PJs. I was excited to see the astronauts head to the space station. I, however, would never have climbed on the space ship (acrophobia), but when the book about the women “calculators” came out I thought, I could have been one of those!! I do so miss the card catalogs! I missed them more when they were firs converting us to electronic searches using microfilm and only had 2 readers and 40 people waiting to do research!! Thank you for such a wonderful post (smile)!!
News about SpaceX is exciting for Science. Our neighbor’s son, that grew up and friends with my girls, works for SpaceX! He is a rocket scientist. The future and then a nostalgia library card catalog all in the same post. Oh, how fast things change! Always enjoy seeing the kiddos!
I have thought now and then on getting one of those vacuum cleaners but never have – we have some strips on the floor that you put down in between carpet and wood and I don’t think it could get over those without help – it wouldn’t move smoothly from room to room because of it I think. – what do you think now that you have one?
How is your new employee handling threads in the sewing room? Just don’t go stepping on or tripping over him/her;)
I’d love to have an employee like that, but not everyone in this household agrees – yet. I missed the news on the launch, so that’s fun to hear about. Love to see those littles each week – makes my day!
Living here in southern Texas we are often able to see the Space Station in orbit. This week we were able to see it with the space capsule in hot pursuit! It was an amazing sight. And I, too, remember the card catalog. And the giant dictionary. And encyclopedia sets (and the door to door salesmen). I am often amazed at how quickly we can gather information in this day and age! Have a wonderful weekend!
