I Love Thursday #167 Blessings Galore
This is the 167th post of things we love for the week. The first Thursday post of the New Year. We post these loves each Thursday along with LeeAnna on her blog at Not Afraid of Color. Several additional friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out. You will surely find something to inspire you.
Green Bay Packers social distancing! This photo from a recent Packer game cracked me up. It was obviously snowing but the encouraging sign reading, Go Pack Go, was still prominent. Also, the bottled soda just chillin’ in the snow must have been nice and refreshing. This past weekend was a bye for our team but there will be a home game Saturday night.
Free lending “library”! We have wanted to make one of those cute free lending book libraries to encourage kids to read different books. This Minnesota free lending library offers sleds instead of books. What a fabulous idea! And you can see there are different sizes to choose from. Fun times in the snow.
Capitol cleanup after vote! This lone congressman felt the need to start cleaning up after the vote was finally finished in the Capitol last Thursday morning. Andy Kim, representing New Jersey, started picking up trash and litter. “When you see something you love that’s broken you want to fix it. I love the Capitol. I‘m honored to be there,” he said. “This building is extraordinary and the rotunda, in particular, is just awe-inspiring. How many countless generations have been inspired in that room? “It really broke my heart and I just felt compelled to do something. … What else could I do?” What a heartwarming story shared on the Today website. Even after a day of terror, there is the sliver of hope and kindness to find
Sweet little Colt is already 10-months-old! How did that happen so quickly?! He was visiting on Sunday and dancing with Auntie Sue while listening to a song on her phone. Colt only gets water in his sippy cup but he knows his cousins have “the good stuff” in their cups. He doesn’t take his eyes off Dominic’s cup . . . I think he’s ESPing him to put the cup down. Please! Step away from the cup so I can enjoy the Crystal Light and no one will get hurt.
Just so you know, the Swiffering is enjoyed by both babies – not just Dominic. Sweet little Addison gets some time in with the duster while Daddy vacuums. Up next, she is waiting for her turn for a bath, with some of her babies (of course). Addi had a ballerina cake for her second birthday celebration and Gamma helped her blow out the candles. She says she loved hearing us sing Happy Birthday, Addison!
