I Love Thursday #18 – Happy February
This is our #18 love list for the week. Here we are at the beginning of February and only one week until our blog hop. LeeAnna blogs at Not Afraid of Color and shares her ‘likes’ every Thursday. Several of our friends also share on a weekly basis – check them out!
Love #1
An almost snow day! Last week sandwiched between two near 50 degree days we got a couple of inches of snow. All the school districts around us canceled school except the one Sue works for. I was home for physical therapy, and I took this shot. While it was almost noon, it was so dark over Lake Michigan with tons of clouds. All the trees were snow covered and looked so pretty.
Love #2
Vitamin D! I love when I’m sitting at work and I get a burst of vitamin D, and see my shadow on the wall. It makes me smile every time!
Love #3
Stool for stretching. So the sadist therapist has me stretching every chance I can. Toward that end, my coworkers helped me to find a stool to put under my desk so I can stretch out my foot as I’m working. I have been setting my phone alarm to go off every hour to stand and stretch. That coupled with the nitroglycerin patch for healing, and a daily ice water bath for reducing the inflammation.
Love #4
February 1st! YAY, it’s time to sign up today for the New Quilt Blogger’s Blog Hop. I don’t have more info to share yet and I can just register now. I expect to learn more shortly and I will be sure to keep y’all informed.
Love #5
Batman microwave cozy. Last summer we made microwave cozies for Andrea’s baby shower. We shared a short tutorial on how we made them from fat quarters. We found some Batman fabric and just recently finished a cozy for ourselves. Holy batcave! I love taking corn or soup right out of the microwave without burning my fingers. In case you make your own, the key is ALL COTTON for no microwave fires.

You didn’t think you would get a week without a sweet Dominic update did you?! He is enjoying all kinds of new things each day. We don’t get to see him every single weekend but as often as we can. After all, mom and dad need to go grocery shopping and to the gym right?! They might as well leave our sweet baby here while they run errands.

Bye, bye sweetheart! See you soon . . .
That’s it for this week! I hope your week is filled with many blessings. Happy Thursday!

sun. That’s what we do have here, sun plus snow. Lots of it. I like your shoes!
Hi LeeAnna,
HAHA – those are the most comfortable low hiking boots. I could walk for miles in them if my darn feet would cooperate. ~smile~ Roseanne
Roseanne, I enjoy reading your favorites. You are so full of appreciation for even the small things. 😍
Hi Cindy,
Some of those small things are just the best! ~smile~ Roseanne
They are!
My favourites this week are Dominic…of course goes without saying…such a doll. And I really like your photograph with the snow and flag, etc. nice composition (not that I’m an expert or anything, smile).
Hi Jocelyn,
Well thanks on the photo props! I really staked out the spot. There are wind turbines going around right there too – I wanted them in the picture as they looked kind of spooky in the fog/mist/snow but missed them. ~smile~ Roseanne
Your day looked like my Monday. Seriously 50 degrees, then snow, what was supposed to be 1 inch ended up being 4 inches. Dominick is so sweet. Microwave bowl cozies are the best. I made sets for each of my girls for Christmas.
Hi Colette,
We have more snow in the forecast for this weekend. I really don’t mind it at all, especially when I don’t HAVE to be out in it. ~smile~ Roseanne
So I guess my best thing is the snow picture – and that you are having it and I am not. 😉 My legs get really painful when they are cold.
What kind of injury did you have on your foot? A timer to stand sounds like something I should do. I hope the patch for pain works. Do you have to have it local to the pain?
oh, I see it is plantar fasciitis. That is Not Nice. I finally got rid of mine through a physio who used ultrasound treatment.
Hi Sandy,
Yes – no snow for you! And the alarm on my phone works pretty darn good at reminding me to stand up and stretch. Little pain in one foot today so progress is being made. ~smile~ Roseanne
Snow is pretty. Sunshine is so good for you. I need to go for my walks more often. and stretching is so important! I have a few bowl cozies (although none as neat as Batman!) – they’re great. All very good stuff!
Howdy! We have been fairly lucky with snowfall this year – it’s mostly happened on the weekend with more coming Saturday. Who doesn’t love Batman?! ~smile~ Roseanne
Love the snow picture! It is always pretty when it’s coming down. I’m looking out the window at that kind of view today! Keep stretching – and those ice water baths help, too, I know – they helped my hubby. Cute, cute Dominic! Love that big grin on his face.
Hi Diann,
The picture didn’t quite capture what I was seeing – the darkness over the lake with loads of snow clouds on top along with the flag heavy with snow. Mr. Dominic has taken to rolling around the living room – you never know where you’re going to find him. ~smile~ Roseanne
So many good things in this post 🙂 One of these days I’m going to make some microwave cozies. I could use some, but I keep putting it off. LOL.
Hi Wendy,
They are SO handy and it probably would take you all of an hour. The hardest part was to make sure the batting is 100% cotton, and Joann’s has so labeled microwave safe. Use cotton thread too! You’ll be happy you made one. ~smile~ Roseanne
What did you do that you need a physical therapy? You probably already mentioned in one of you posts and I missed it-not enough hours in my day:(
Hi Vicki,
I have plantar fasciitis in both feet and a bone spur through my achilles tendon in the right foot. So lots of stretching, ice water baths, rolling pinning on my legs – lots ‘o fun in other words! I agree with the not enough hours in a day!! ~smile~ Roseanne
Hope your feet improve quickly!
Dominic is getting so big!!! He is such a cutie pie! Great likes, I hope you feel better soon! Keep on stretching!
Good Morning!
Yes, I think stretching is the key. I actually have a rolling pin with me at work today to use. Our sweet boy really is getting big – 5 months tomorrow already. ~smile~ Roseanne
