I Love Thursday #19 – On Wednesday!
This is our #19 loves list for the week. We had to share our usual Thursday post a day early this week because tomorrow we are part of a blog hop. LeeAnna blogs at Not Afraid of Color and shares her ‘likes’ every Thursday. Several of our friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out on Thursday!
Love #1
Flat tire alert! While I can’t say I love and enjoyed having a nearly-flat tire, I do very much love the alert my car gives me. I backed out of the garage and that little horseshoe symbol with an ! in the center showed up. Huh. I wonder what that means? Oh, only 12 psi in one tire when the others had 34 psi. Hmm. Are there any places open at 4:55am that can help with this? Nope. I drove the 50 miles to work, called a dealership nearby and got it fixed on my lunch hour. Sweet!
Love #2
Tax software! I love doing taxes. Not the actual paying of the money but just the whole accounting-ish task. I do taxes for just a few people so it doesn’t take me away from too much sewing and quilting.
Love #3
Rolling Pin! Remember I’m seeing a sadistic therapist for my feet. He has me using a rolling pin on my calves to loosen up the tense muscles. So when I find a particularly tense spot, I’m suppose to keep rolling over it a few times. That may sound like it hurts, and it does. But I have to say I have learned to like it and it has been working on loosening up those calves. An odd thing to love but there you have it.
Love #4
February 1st! YAY, that was the sign up day for the New Quilt Blogger’s Blog Hop. I did so, and they only take the first 100 registrations. I expect to learn more shortly and I will be sure to keep y’all informed. If you are interested in participating, check out one of the websites listed below to see if there are still openings. I am looking forward to learning great things to make our blog better. ~smile~
Love #5
Longer daylight! Woot woot, Spring is actually coming. Have you noticed that the days are getting longer yet? I have. I see the sun coming up shortly after I get to work now, or at least the sky lightening. And I have the sun in my eyes when I’m cleaning up the dinner dishes. Yay! I love having the sun in my eyes. Soon baseball players will be reporting for Spring training. Yippee!
Love #6
Mr Dominic is always going to be my favorite love each week. He officially turned 5 months now. He adores his fruits and veggies, especially pears. I am looking forward to taking him to the zoo and other fun places once Spring really does arrive.

Dominic at 5 months and newborn – oh this baby!
Look how much he has grown! We’re going to have to make him a ‘big boy’ quilt soon.
That’s it for this week! I hope your week is filled with many blessings. Happy Wednesday and Thursday!

Such a nice photo of Dominic! Love the comparison you did! I would love that flat tire light on my car! Have a great day!
Good Morning,
That comparison shot really shows how much our sweet boy has grown over the five months. I can’t believe it! ~smile~ Roseanne
I was contemplating a flat tire the other day, since they always seem to happen at the most inopportune times. The rolling pin makes sense. Dominick is almost a whole elephant tall! I like having my taxes finished. Usually I do my own, but dealing with estates and death URGH!
Hi Colette,
Yeah, this year’s taxes for you are certainly a bit more difficult. And Dominic – he really is almost 30″ tall already. We hope he can stay in his baby car seat until the end of March before he has to move to the big boy one. ~smile~ Roseanne
So funny because I had a flat tire last week;luckily discovered it before I had left our street. Glad your exercising is paying off and tax programs are great. Every day means a couple more minutes of light and it does make a difference. And that baby is growing like the proverbial weed. Adorable!!
Hi Jocelyn!
Dominic is growing way too quickly. It is so fun to see what foods he like – no go on peas. What a coincidence that you had a flat tire too! Geez – I’m just glad I could drive the 50 miles to work without issue, and that you caught yours right away. ~smile~ Roseanne
Wow! What a week! I like the rolling pin idea – I’ll have to give that a try!
Hi Susan,
The rolling pin works GREAT! Really gets those kicks out. My PT is very happy and so am I. ~smile~ Roseanne
Dominic is getting so big! Like a regular baby now and not a newborn. So adorable! And I love the new light! It’s wonderful to still be sunset (rather than pitch black) when I leave work, and sunrise (rather than pitch black) when I walk the dogs in the morning. Right now is great, because my routine means I’m catching beautiful colors both times of the day.
Hi Shannon,
Oh I know what you mean about the beautiful colors at both times of the day. Just glorious sunsets from my patio doors, it sometimes takes my breath away. And I am at work mostly for sunrise but it comes up over Lake Michigan and is fabulous. My sweet boy is now a baby, and no longer a newborn. He wants to be involved and is not so willing to be held or nap. It’s all a wonderful process. ~smile~ Roseanne
Ugh. Taxes. Thank goodness for tax software. Neat that you’re in a blog hop! And huzzah for longer days. It’s so nice when it’s not dark at 5pm. Happy early blogiversary!
Hi,
Thanks for the good wishes. I used to LONG ago do taxes without the software but why make it any harder than it needs to be?! I love technology! ~smile~ Roseanne
Such a cute photo of Dominic! He has really grown! My husband would agree with you about the tax software – he really likes it and has taught our kids to do their taxes the same way. Yes to the longer days, too – I LOVE that!
Hi Diann,
My sweet baby is growing so much . . . but he’s still a baby. Just talking a little bit more and getting in a tooth. ~smile~ Roseanne
He’s riding the elephant! And his outfit matches!
Hi LeeAnna,
He’s almost too big for Ellie the elephant! That boy – he’s growing like a weed. ~smile~ Roseanne
I love seeing babies monthly growth on the same quilt. I made a BB-8 quilt for my grandson and my daughter is doing this. So fun!
Hi Karen,
I can’t believe how much he’s grown in five months. He’ll be bigger than the quilt itself in no time. ~smile~ Roseanne
Roseanne, So sad to have a flat tire and especially at that time of day. Glad you could get to work! Good thing there are people like you to do taxes. 🙂 I used to be a runner so I’m very acquainted with tight muscles. We have a gadget called a trigger point roller that does the same thing as your rolling pin. Wish I had known you could use that instead. Would have been much cheaper and already on-hand. Woohoo for making it into the blog hop. You will learn so much and have such a great time. I am very aware of the longer days. My husband and I keep a log of where the sun is as the seasons change. We live in an area unobstructed by buildings so we can easily see where the sun rises and sets. So amazing to compare. Dominic has really grown. He looks so happy and healthy! Happy Wednesday and Thursday to you too! 🙂
Hi Cindy,
I never heard of the whole roller thing. I thought he was nuts! I have seen an improvement – can’t wait to hear what he says tomorrow. ~smile~ Roseanne
