I Love Thursday #25 – Spring is Here
This is our 25th post of loves for the week. We post these loves each Thursday along LeeAnna on blog at Not Afraid of Color. Several friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out. You will surely find inspiration.
Love #1
Spring! Spring has sprung at least on the calendar. Here is a pretty little bunch of tulips that my boss brought in to share on Monday. It’s just what we need around here while awaiting for the temperatures to match the calendar.
Love #2
1440 minutes. That’s how minutes we each have in every single day. I just recently read something about making a change in your life by committing 1% of your day. This was the subject in one of those emails from Bloglovin’. It suggested that if you have a goal/dream/wish for a change to commit 1% of your daily minutes toward that change. 15 minutes. Commit 15 minutes to making a change or your dream come true. Would you or will you do that? I think I can do that and I love this concept.
Love #3
National Quilting Day AND St. Patrick’s Day – overlap! We spent NQD and SPD having coffee with Sue’s mom and sewing away. I cannot help but think about my dad while enjoying this day as it would have been his birthday. It is also my great-nephew Mark’s birthday and he turned 30! My dad would have loved Mark – he is a gentle soul and a good man and dad. Anyway, perhaps just a bit reflective and thankful for my peeps.
Love #4
Hitch – the movie. I love everything about that movie. I want to meet Albert – he’s an accountant and I love his dance moves. We told Andrea we were practicing them for her wedding and she had to play that Usher song (Yeah!) for us. Or Alex who takes Sarah to Ellis Island on their first date. So cool. He does have a lot of moves, and he’s smooth but he has a good heart. I love looking at those old registries, with people’s signatures. You can just imagine the hope they were feeling mixed with how scared they must have been. Anyway, in case you missed the dance moves of Albert, here they are in all their glory:
Andrea and Chris did play Yeah! at their wedding for us but we didn’t break out these dance moves. You can see why we wanted to emulate them though!
Love #5
Dominic came over and helped us in the sewing room. He is a good supervisor and now sits up quite nicely in a chair and surveys his toys. He decided that attention was being diverted from him so we adjourned back to the living room toute suite. What were we thinking?!!
That’s it for this week! I hope your week is filled with many blessings. Happy Thursday! Our Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link for more quilting fun or in the sidebar of our website – check out what our friends are up to. Like/follow us on our Facebook page and share your likes/loves there! We love to see them. ~smile~
Roseanne, I can’t believe how big Dominic is getting. He’s growing so fast and looking so Adorable! 😊
We just spent the morning with him! He is just a joy to be around – I love that baby. ~smile~ Roseanne
So precious! ❤️
We just spent the morning with him! He is just a joy to be around – I love that baby. Thanks so much for your sweet comments! ~smile~ Roseanne
The pink tulips are gorgeous. I saw that post about 15 minutes a day.
I can’t wait until our tulips are up instead of buying them in the store! ~smile~ Roseanne
Love those pink tulips! I’m sure looking forward to having some blooms in my garden. The info about about 1440 minutes and devoting 1% of them to something you want to do or make happen is such good advice! It’s deciding what those 15 minutes should be devoted to that I might have a hard time with…:)
Hi Diann,
Oh, I have a few ideas for those 15 minutes – it’s actually doing it that is the issue for me. ~smile~ Roseanne
pink tulips are so beautiful. I am looking at some on my mantel now too, and they may be my favorites. Ballet pink.
Hi LeeAnna,
Yes, I would call them ballet pink. They make me happy! ~smile~ Roseanne
Your post made me smile and chuckle. My DGD is just like Dominic, but she’s 3 years old next month.
Blessings,
Aww, thank you so much! Blessings back to you as well. Dominic is a huge blessing in our life, and I’m so lucky to see him as often as I do. ~smile~ Roseanne
I think I have Hitch on my movie list – that clip certainly made me laugh. Yay for tulips. oh, 15 minutes a day… I keep meaning to do yoga for 15 minutes and it is the hardest thing to get to my mat! Who would think 15 minutes could be such a difficult thing to do.
I know, right?! I can waste 15 minutes just opening up FB or Pinterest, in the blink of the eye. I want to get more walking in – 15 minutes is the perfect way to start. In theory anyway – now if I can only DO it. ~smile~ Roseanne
I got excited when I saw your title, then realized it is like here I guess…calendar wise -still wating for the reality. Smile
But tulips are pretty. It read that article too about committing 1% of your day to something; it was interesting as I do believe in baby steps adding up.
Sewing with family, esp. Dominic, is so special. Wish I had such a cute supervisor in my sewing room!
Hi Jocelyn,
He really is so darn nosey that even turning on the iron, he is like WHAT IS THAT??!! Oh so many things for him to learn. Get his hands on them, touch them and then put them in his mouth – that’s his process. ~smile~ Roseanne
Dominic’s hair is really coming in! I love your tulips and all your likes! Have a great day!
Hi Mickie,
Aww, thanks so much. Dominic is cutting teeth and not having so many smiles as normal. I hope they cut through soon – poor baby. ~smile~ Roseanne
Well, I haven’t seen Hitch in its entirety. I keep starting it and losing interest. I need to try again and see those dance moves, I guess! Your little guy sure is a cutie!
Hi Wendy,
The dance moves crack me up, and I like that song. Sue’s niece was a little mortified that we would actually get out there and do the moves at her reception. HAHA! Thanks – we are pretty darn partial to that little boy. ~smile~ Roseanne
