I Love Thursday #26 – End of March
This is our 26th post of loves for the week. That is half a year we’ve been looking for the little bright spots to share each week. We post these loves each Thursday along LeeAnna on blog at Not Afraid of Color. Several friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out. You will surely find inspiration.
Love #1
A new book, Fall From Grace by Danielle Steel. I just started reading it on Monday and I have to say it is a quick, easy and good read. Finished by Wednesday, I often wondered how things were going to be resolved. I don’t usually read Ms. Steel but this was suggested to me by the library. I’m guessing they base their suggestions on my current book checkouts. Why not give it a try I thought?! I believe she often writes romance novels, and this does have a little of that genre.
Love #2
Quilt patterns everywhere. I get a weekly (or sometimes more often actually) email from Barnes & Noble. They share new releases, and I noticed this book cover. I think this would make a really cute quilt! The colors appeal to me and I can totally see different quilting in each ‘block’. It’s not just me, right?! I’ll bet you see inspiration for quilts or quilt patterns throughout your daily life, too.
Love #3
Grocery shopping. I can’t say I really love going grocery shopping BUT I get it over with on Thursdays. I go right after work and often still beat Sue home. This opens the door for lots of sewing on Saturdays or Dominic visits. Is this a chore you enjoy? Do you get it out of the way for the weekend?
Love #4
Grip Its – a new product I heard about on Facebook. I don’t own them (yet) nor am I affiliated with them in any way. They are two 1/4″ thick acrylic pieces about the size of your hand with large rubber grips on the bottom of each piece. You would place one of these on each side of the needle to assist you with moving the fabric around for FMQ. They replace the need for gloves, and are suppose to ease neck and shoulder tension. I do have issues in that area, so I am giving these some serious thought.
Love #5
Dominic spent Saturday morning with us again. He is developing quite a personality and continues to be a true joy to us! He really is our rainbow miracle baby. Here is Mr. Big Boy sitting in his new Elmo chair. He’s too little to sit in it by himself yet but it won’t be long and he’ll be crawling in it whenever he wants.
He’s going to be seven months old shortly. ~smile~
That’s it for this week! I hope your week is filled with many blessings. Happy Thursday! Our Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link for more quilting fun or in the sidebar of our website – check out what our friends are up to. Oh Roseanne, I can’t believe Dominic is almost 7 months old! How is that possible? 🤗
So many good books to read …. so much to look forward to with Dom … I love that age!!! Happy Easter to you!
Hi Angie,
Thank you so much for your visit today! Oh so many good books to read – and never enough time to do all the things I’d like to do. Spending time with Dominic is right there at the top of the list so all other things fall by the wayside. As it should! Happy Easter – I have a special post for tomorrow with a message from Dominic. ~smile~ Roseanne
dom is getting so big! Sitting up so bright eyed. I like the author, usually listen to books on disc while in studio, and heard several of hers. Grocery shopping… not so much lol! But I like to eat.
Yes to the idea of finding a new author to enjoy, yes, I see a quilt pattern there too; yes, I actually like grocery shopping if I’m not in a rush, and a big smile for seeing Dominic. I don’t know why, but seeing babies puts a smile on my face. I think he’s going to be handsome!
Hi Jocelyn,
Aww, you are too sweet – we think he’s going to be handsome too. He already has us (me especially) wrapped around him baby finger. Happy Friday! ~smile~ Roseanne
I despise shopping. Jeff used to do it all. Dominick is so cute, what a sweetie. I am constantly finding patterns for quilts. Then I make up my own.
Don’t care for shopping of any kind but I do see quilts in so many areas of my life!!! Dominic is adorable! Great chair!
I, too, see quilt patterns everywhere! I haven’t really ever tried turning a design like that into an actual quilt, but I love seeing it when people do. Thanks for the book recommendation, too – I’ll have to put it on my list!
I see knitting and sewing motifs in the world around me. I love pattern and repetition, and sometimes get ideas from strange places. What a cutie pie!!
Hi Chris,
Aww, thanks! We love that baby so much, and we get to spend Friday with him. Happy Thursday! ~smile~ Roseanne
Yes, I see quilt patterns in so many places. If only I could get all them made into quilts!
