I Love Thursday #65 – Last for 2018
This is our 65th post of things we love for the week and the last one for 2018. We post these loves each Thursday along with LeeAnna on her blog at Not Afraid of Color. Several additional friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out. You will surely find something to inspire you.
Love #1
Christmas and Boxing Day! I hope each of you who celebrate Christmas and/or Boxing Day for our Canadian friends enjoyed your day. We celebrated the day quietly at home, with a few visits to our peeps and friends.
Love #2
Mary Poppins Returns! Sue and I took ourselves to the cinema to see Mary Poppins Returns. I loved the original version and this newer version is just as good. Emily Blunt plays a very believable Mary Poppins and her singing is fabulous. To offset Mary, Jack is the male lead played by Lin-Manuel Miranda and is quite fetching and personable. They brought back the characters of Jane and Michael Banks, in the old homestead and even Dick Van Dyke plays a small part. The new music introduced in very catchy and fun, and we enjoyed ourself very much!
Love #3
Organizing like crazy! We are going through our stash of fabrics and kits and making a plan. This will make for a very nice start to 2019 with a succinct work list. Sue told me I CANNOT BUY ANY MORE FABRIC. PERIOD. Geez. That’s a bit harsh, don’t you think?!!
Love #4
Dominic has been walking and running up a storm. One important fixture for our sweet boy is his orange ring. It makes folding laundry much easier, as well as crinkling wrapping paper all the more satisfying. Perhaps we should all try the orange ring with laundry?!
Last but not least, Dominic wishes you a Happy New Year! Soon we’ll share a picture of Mr. Big Brother and his new little sister. ~smile~ ♥ ♥
That’s it for this week and this year! We hope your week is filled with many blessings. Happy Thursday! See you next week with more loves. Oh Dom! Wait to see your baby sister!! He will lover her!! I find that when I limit buying fabric it makes me more creative so I’m siding with Sue on this one 🙂 Happy New Year!
No more fabric-that is so funny. Dominic’s last photo is just too cute. Happy New Year

There ARE many blessings, and I can see for you, too. Thanks for the review of Mary Poppins. I heard an NPR interview with her, and I liked her, but her voice is so different in tone than Julie Andrews, I wasn’t sure how the movie would be. Probably if one views it as a stand alone, it’s easier. Dominic, oh that boy! Yes, I think I’ll try an orange ring with my laundry! LOL And maybe a little dancing on the wrapping paper, too. Could be fun, right? And work off a couple of pieces of pie! I love that last picture. The expression on his face is great, even without the drawing, but that’s great, too =) Only a few days to the new year! Happy weekend!
I’m glad to know the new Mary Poppins movie is completely different from the first, including its own set of songs. I will see it. No fabric, hahaha.
No more fabric??? I have to go lie down, that is not a concept I can compute…not acceptable… But thank you for the Dominic de-stresser! He is so dang cute…and growing so quickly…can’t wait to see a new little sibling…
Hello Roseanne, I always enjoy reading your posts. Your last picture of Dominic instantly had me smiling and giggling! I am also so looking forward to pictures of the new baby girl. When was she born? I can always send you some packages of new fabrics that I have not used, that way Sue can not complain in any way of you buying fabrics. LOL. Plus, I can send her some new fabrics also!! The two of you are such wonderful sweet caring people, who are very important to me! I am off to hopefully finish setting up my new blog. Have a marvelous day!
Good likes! The new Mary Poppins looks interesting. Yay for Boxing Day.
I love your Thursday posts! It’s fun to get a glimpse into your life this way!
I think you just need to tell Sue that half of the fabric is bought with love, for her. (She’ll melt & forgive you!)
Will have to consider Mary Poppins … sounds way way better than a shoot ’em / car race / race car / shoot ’em movie!
And Dominic … he continues to be so sweet! I’m glad that the orange ring makes life a lot better! 🙂
I will amend my comment to no more fabric UNLESS you can come up with a place to store it. Every nook and cranny is full – even the drawers of my new sewing table (I was looking to putting ‘cool’ stuff in them – i don’t exactly what but am pretty sure it wasn’t fabric overflow).
How tall are the ceilings? Room for a hanging platform up there? Or how about an upper deck in the garage? LOL
Looks like you had a merry week. God’s blessings in the coming New Year.
Glad you got to be with family on Christmas. But Sue is getting a little bossy. No more Fabric? Well, I never!
Glad to hear a great review of Mary Poppins, it’s on my want to see list. Unfortunately, not so much on the want to see list for the husband and teenage sons. I think I need to borrow that orange ring and see if it inspires me to clean and organize a bit. Hope you have a wonderful weekend and a very happy New Year!
Leave the sons and husband at home. Take the orange ring and go see the movie!
harsh? It’s crazy talk!!! I have such a stash but they keep making stuff I want! Happy new year to you both!
I’m happy you liked the Mary Poppins movie and told us about it, because I’ve been wondering how it would be. Sounds like you had a lovely Christmas – I always love the fun pictures of Dominic! Happy Thursday, Roseanne!
Thanks for being my guinea pig when it comes to the new Mary Poppins movie! I couldn’t bring myself to go see it because how on earth can you top the original?? On your recommendation I may just need to grab the littles next door and give it a go! And isn’t it funny how Dominic has chosen the orange ring? If only we could read their little minds!
Emily Blunt is so talented, I’m not surprised she did well with that role. She said she tried not to play Julie Andrews playing Mary Poppins…I guess give it her spin.
Great time of year to take stock…I’m doing a little of that too. Sue will not be able to stick to that, I’m thinking!! So no worries.
It will be wonderful to see Dominic with a little sister.
Well, I totally understand the intent! I tried last year not to buy more fabric until I had made some of the kits and used some of my overflowing stash – but, that just did NOT work!! LOL I actually have a cabinet full of several kits, BOMs and extra stash that I planned to start on last year, but to no avail. Maybe this year!! Happy New Year, Roseanne and Sue!! And Sue, sometimes a girl just gotta have some new fabric!! LOL
Wow, good thing Sue doesn’t live here-no more fabric…well that just wouldn’t go over here, LOL OMG just read Wendy’s response to that, haha. But it is awesome to go through one’s stash to reacquaint oneself as to what they have on hand. My oldest GSon’s fav color is orange.
Let’s go fabric shopping together — I’ll distract Sue while you snag some new fabric — we’ll tell her it’s for me 🙂 Happy new year!
Sue, Sue, Sue — no more fabric?!?! What?! I’m so stunned, I’m not even sure what the remedy should be. A stiff drink? Chocolate? Locked overnight in a fabric store? Geez is right. She’ll come around, right?!?
