I Love Thursday #79
This is our 79th post of things we love for the week. We post these loves each Thursday along with LeeAnna on her blog at Not Afraid of Color. Several additional friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out. You will surely find something to inspire you.
Love #1
Spring flowering cactus! My Christmas cactus bloomed again after my friend Darlene told me to give this a try. She said to move it to a slightly darker location. For me, that meant moving it off of the table in front of the patio door to a desktop out of direct light. I gave it some cactus food one time, and let it rest for two weeks. When I moved it back into the direct light, two blossoms appeared.
Love #2
Lake Michigan on a Spring day! These are the rocks lining the shoreline of Lake Michigan. During a fall photo shoot, I dearly wanted to climb on these rocks for a better angle. Today would not have been a time to give rock climbing a try! This photo was taken by our friend Diane Hilbrink.
Love #3
Opening Day had both littles in team regalia. Go Cubbies, Dominic, Elmo and Addison say! Then equal time was needed for Go Brewers. You can see Addison didn’t think too much of that sentiment. Next, Addison is sitting like a big girl. And I adore her sweet pose. ♥ ♥ Dominic did NOT appreciate his sister even thinking of sitting in his Elmo chair. Where did the blocks go – I don’t see any in my bucket but it makes a nice hat. Lastly, it’s so fun to have our friend AJ over to play with. ~smile~ Dominic has his favorite shirt on. ~double smile~
Happy Thursday! See you next week with more loves. Our Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link for more quilting fun or in the sidebar of our website – check out what our friends are up to. Like/follow us on our Facebook page and share your likes/loves there. We love to see them. ~smile~
They grow up way too fast! But, it’s never too soon to brainwash (LOL) them into the family sports traditions! Enjoy the rest of your week!
Yay — two blooms for your cactus! The shoreline picture is breathtaking! The slideshow is a treasure for sure…Addison sitting up…oh my they do grow up quickly. I’m so happy to see Dominic still loving his shirt — I need to make him a Elmo shirt ♥♥
That shoreline….OMG. I do love days like that on the water, but….you were right not to venture out. The babies are too adorable, and a blooming christmas cactus is always a feat.
What sweetie! I love that your Christmas cactus bloomed. We have one plant we water every 3 weeks – kind of hysterical. It is so nice that you get to spend time with the precious ones.
Such little cuties!
I don’t know much about Christmas Cactus…have to look that up as we were given one in a grouping for Christmas. It hasn’t bloomed since.
No climbing up on rocks by an ocean is never a good idea. Rogue waves are a real thing. Have a great weekend you two.
My cactus did not bloom much this spring. I think I need to move it to another spot. I’m amazed at how rough Lake Michigan can get!
Oh so cute, except for those Cub shirts! Go Cards!!! LOL
Hello Roseanne, Your flowering cactus is beautiful! I am so happy for you that the advice Darlene shared with you worked so fabulously. Now that you know what to do, I have a feeling it will continue to bloom every year with more blooms every year, also. Lake Michigan does look beautiful with those waves, yet I do agree that getting up close for a picture is not a very good idea. Each one of the pictures you shared of the kiddos are marvelous! My how quickly they grow up! Thank you for sharing all of these great parts of your week with us! Have a splendid day!
Hooray for a cactus blooming experiment that worked! The Lake Michigan photo is amazing! And the kids are always fun to see each week. I think my favorite is Addison’s Brewers outfit!
You and I both have confused Christmas cactus. Love the pic of Lake Michigan. I love when the ice breaks up and the storms push the blocks around look like giant blocks sometimes, but I missed it this year. Great pics of the littles.
Hooray for a blooming cactus! Love the picture of the waves splashing those rocks. The kids pictures are all so cute. Only way they could be any cuter is if they had on Kansas City Royals gear 😉 Ha! Hope you are having a great Thursday.
Christmas cactus, waves on rocks and babies, These are a few of my favorite things. 🙂
That curl on top of Addison’s head is so precious. my knees would not be climbing out on those rocks in any season, although I would have been scrambling all over them when was young. I have never had a Christmas cactus, though my mother did. She had a green thumb and it did bloom. I do well with green leafy, low maintenance house plants, like philodendron in hanging baskets. The cats eat anything else. The cats are wise to leave these alone. Thank you for sharing on I Like Thursday … 🙂 Pat
love christmas cactus… two blooms, good for you! the baby is growing up and sitting up already!
Isn’t it a blessing to have so much to love? Those kiddos though are just too sweet. I know you treasure every single moment!
Love your Christmas cactus. My mom had one, and I didn’t take it from the house after she passed away. How I wish I would’ve!
I’m going visually diabetic here, watching the little slideshow a few times…okay, I can make it through the end of the week now! They are so dang sweet! What a gift to have them near…love the other photos as well, the blooming cactus and the shoreline…beauty from hardship is what they both remind me of…but then back to the slideshow…just one more time…so dang cute!!!
