I Love Thursday #82
This is our 82nd post of things we love for the week. We missed posting last week but normally we post these loves each Thursday along with LeeAnna on her blog at Not Afraid of Color. Several additional friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out. You will surely find something to inspire you.
Love #1
Quilt pictures! A while back, we made a Plus Playtime quilt for Luke as a housewarming gift. He just recently sent us pictures of himself with the quilt. We were happy to receive them and to see that it appears the color scheme goes well with his decor.
We hope he can feel all the quilty love that went into his quilt, and we wonder if he’s found his name in one of the plus signs?!
Love #2
Birthday cards! I thought I’d share a couple of the birthday cards made by students to go into the birthday bags. I shared information about the birthday bags two weeks ago, but just a few days ago the bags were assembled including these cute cards. All the bags will be delivered to a CPS (Chicago Public Schools) early next week for distribution. I hope we do this service project again!
Love #3
Budding Spring! Our trees, our daffodils, our hyacinth bulbs are all opening up – overnight it seems. When we visited my brother and SIL last week, I was in awe at just how beautifully green it was. Only to come home to our own green show to enjoy.
Then we had another unannounced snow storm (!!) that left our little hyacinths looking like this! It does look pretty in the early morning sunlight, doesn’t it. All the snow was thankfully melted by noon. ~smile~
Love #4
I apologize for missing last week’s loves. I missed the video montage myself! The kiddos had a wonderful Easter, and Dominic has a one or two new loves. His new shoes that he loves to stomp, stomp, stomp in with a PURPLE light. And the swing – can you just see the utter joy on his face?! Higher Momma, higher! Addison got herself rolled into a burrito – she’s a rolling fool now in a good way!
This is what two small kiddos look like when they both decide to wake up at 4:30am. You should see Mom and Dad!! A play date with GEM a.k.a. Grant looks like so much fun in the little camper. For Easter it was time to color eggs (yellow for Grandma – and hands on please), hang out with the Easter bunny, and then look at all the eggs found with friend A.J. Addison says yes, you may call me Princess and I will dress like one now all.the.time. And finally, Dominic says you press right HERE for a selfie, Auntie Sue. Geez. ~eye roll~ I knew that when I was a baby . . . years ago. ~smile~
Happy Thursday! See you next week with more loves. Our Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link for more quilting fun or in the sidebar of our website – check out what our friends are up to. Like/follow us on our Facebook page and share your likes/loves there. We love to see them. ~smile~
Love the new photos of the kiddos! My granddaughter was always excited about the light up sneakers when she was young! The quilts are fantastic and so are the birthday cards! Have a great week!
There is a lot of love shared in this post. Nice to read about it.
baby buritos hahaha. Poor little hyacinths… they’ll make it I betcha! Lots of blooms around your yard, pretty. How nice when a quilt goes to someone who really likes it!
Poor flowers in the snow – but they are very pretty like that! Great quilt! And swinging…. always my favorite. I agree – higher! higher!
Awe just too much cuteness! Neat pic though with the snow and pink hyacinths
Wonderful loves!!!
Love to see that your quilt is so appreciated and loved! We haven’t had snow here but it’s been cold and rainy. I’m looking forward to some warm weather. It’s been fun reading your post!
We missed you last week, too – so glad you are back! Glad, too, that you’re enjoying spring green and blooming flowers – even if they do still get snowed on. Thanks for the cute photos of Dominic and Addison as always! My husband would like some shoes that light up – too bad they don’t make them in his size!
Yes, it is a lovely Thursday – thank you for sharing your gems with us here!
Good Afternoon, Roseanne … what a nice post. Love the extra long cute kiddo slideshow. Oh, no to more snow. It has continued to be cool and gray and rain, rain, rain here, but none of the white stuff. Our tulips and spring bulbs seem to be waiting for the sun. The trees and shrubs are starting to bloom here.
Hope to sit out and enjoy them soon. The quilt for Luke looks great in his decor and he looks very pleased. How nice that he sent you photos to share … 🙂 Pat
Love how kids are so totally comfortable with technology!! No fears at all. Love the slide show. 🙂 And yay for another Playtime Plus quilt, very very cool!!
The love and care put into those birthday cards certainly shows! Such a great project, I do hope you get to do it again as well. Beautiful quilt! Oh, no more snow! We’ve had lots of rain here. Always enjoy seeing the pictures of the cute kids. Hope you have a fantastic Thursday!
Kids today, the things they know, hey Roseanne. Both my grandsons have tried to help me with electronics at ridiculously young ages which was a hoot. I wonder what my grandmother, the older one, would say about lights on sneakers.
That looks like a very happy Luke with his quilt.
We just had loads and loads of rain resulting in flooding thanks to a Texas low. I really didn’t think weather systems could travel like that. The result is very soggy ground but supposed to be sunny by the weekend. Fingers crossed!
The cards are great and it sounds like a wonderful service project. We had snow here too, but it melted within a day.
How nice of Luke to send picture of him with the quilt — and yes it does match his/their decor! Love the slideshow…what a joy! will the snow ever end ??
That’s a very cool quilt for Luke. He likes it! Love your garden of blooms. I can’t believe there’s more snow. Have a wonderful weekend. mary
Hello Roseanne, Luke does look so incredibly happy with his new quilt! Which is what makes creating quilts worth every second we put into them. How wonderful and fun to be involved in a project making Birthday Cards and making someone happy. I can understand wanting to be involved in this type of project and do hope the chance comes up again for you and Sue! Your spring flowers are lovely and I like the quilts you included in the pictures. Sorry about the snow. Mother Nature has sure been playing havoc this season everywhere. Just last night and this morning, we got cold enough …. again….that we turned the heat on. I enjoyed each one of the photos you shared, they are growing so quickly! Thank you for sharing and have a spectacular day!!
Fun to see Luke with the quilt, the kiddos are still cute, and that little hyacinth covered in snow is so pretty. Fun things to love!
Awesome that Luke sent you a pic with the quilt.
So cute! Thank goodness I resisted the urge to buy sneakers with lights, I’d be stomping all over the place to watch them go off, definitely creepy at my age…I think the older I get, the quicker the regression to toddlerhood in my case…thank you for the fix! Hugs to the little prince and princess…
