I Love Thursday #93 Fun Times
This is the 93rd post of things we love for the week. We post these loves each Thursday along with LeeAnna on her blog at Not Afraid of Color. Several additional friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out. You will surely find something to inspire you.
Love #1
Beach covers! Andrea asked Sue and me if we could make sweet boy, Dominic, a beach cover. She said a friend had a towel with a circle cut into it for the head to pop through, and then a hood to go on the head. Sure, we could make one easily. OR, Auntie Sue can check out Bed, Bath and Beyond’s website. She found a beach cover for only $7.99, and we all know a good, thick towel costs about that much or more. So, I linked over from my Ebates/Rakuten account and bought one or three. Just like that because that’s how we roll.
One cover features sharks, another a Super Hero and since we cannot forget sweet girl, a mermaid towel. Very similar to the cute outfit Barbara made for her before she was born! She already has a matching swim hat that is a little too big.
Late-breaking update with some really, really, really cute kiddos (unbiased comment) in their new beach coverups. Look at that sweet girl hanging on to the chair with her wet hair looking so stylish. Our own little superhero and mermaid – LOVE! ♥ ♥
Love #2
Auntie love! Feeding off the above items, here is the quintessential picture representing Sue and me when the littles are over. Dominic playing the no-you-can’t-go-away game, and Addison watching closely so she knows how to play when she’s a little older. Can’t tell we love these two, can you?!
Love #3
Moose! It has been hot in Anchorage, Alaska too. Sometimes, a moose has to do what a moose has to do. This video was shot on July 9, 2019. I just love how he is chill (literally and figuratively), enjoying the sprinkler and drinking the water. While moose can be dangerous, I totally respect them and think they are beautiful beasts. Enjoy the video and know that this is exactly what Sue and I wanted to be doing during the recent hot spell. Truth. Plus this video is pretty darn funny – there is a longer version if you want to see it.
Love #4
Winter experiments flourishing! My winter plant experiments from last winter are happily flourishing in full sunshine. Planted in a fairly big pot, you can see they have more than doubled from when I received them for my birthday in October. The Gerber daisy is a gift from May and it also has been happily reblooming often.
I did pull all that pesty grass from the Gerber pot – how annoying. I am really wondering if the mums on the right will be the same colors as they were when originally given to me. They sure were pretty, especially the striped one.
Love #5
Quilters Through the Generations! A blogger friend, Melva, has been interviewing well known and perhaps not so well known quilters, asking them how they got involved/started with this addiction. Melva Loves Scraps is the name of her blog, and I’ll just bet you’ll recognize some of her interviewees. Perhaps you’ll even want to raise your hand to share your story along with some of your ancestors. My friend, Susan Nixon was recently interviewed and I was completely surprised to learn she’s a gamer. I hope you check out the link! Melva usually publishes these interesting tales on Saturdays.
Love #6
Addison and Dominic visited the Betty Brinn Children’s Museum associated with Discovery World this week. It’s in downtown Milwaukee and Auntie Sue tagged along for the fun time. Sue also snagged some good photos starting with our little Scientist. Dominic went down the big slide by himself, and they both enjoyed and listened well during Tot Time. We attempted a selfie of wanna-be-Team-Gray during Friday’s babysitting session. Addi had to be changed out of her gray onesie after sharing some bodily fluids with Auntie Rose. ~smile~ Three of us had gray t-shirts on! Dominic showed momma how to slamdunk a basketball quite nicely, while Addison stretched her way out of falling asleep for a nap. Fresh-faced babies after a bath are just the best, aren’t they?? Finally, Addison was ready to drop Cookie Monster for Oscar and Grover . . . once she took her brother’s shades off. ♥ ♥ ♥
Our other Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link above or along the sidebar on our website for more quilting fun – check out what our friends are up to. Like/follow us on our Facebook page and you can share your photos of what you’re working on. We would love to see them!
Oh, those littles are amazingly adorable! In all their pictures and that mermaid! The moose is great! I also like to eat moose – the only wild game I really do enjoy – but not as steaks. Ground up it is the most fabulous tasting meat! But I wouldn’t eat that one. He has a level of intelligence that makes him more than dinner. =)
Your flowers are beautiful. I wanted Gerber daisies, but what a difference one letter makes! I bought Gerbera daisies, and they have a different leaf. They make wonderful greenery next to my porch steps, but they only bloom once a year in very late summer!
Thanks for the shout out. I never think of it as gaming, because we aren’t together, and we don’t toss dice, and we don’t have little metal figures. LOL I think of it as writing, and you know I always have something to say. LOL
There’s my fix till next Thursday! So dang cute!! The moose had me jealous…should have thought of that myself…
Love that mermaid! I’ve seen several posts on moose and water sprinklers. Aways fun. 🙂
Ahhh! Love the merbaby!
Love the Auntie snuggles in #2!
Another wonderful round of photos!! Those towel covers are adorable.
I smiled all the way through this post, Roseanne. Those little cuties and their two cute aunts certainly have fun together.
We have lots of moose in my home province; they pose a danger on the highways but I’ve never heard of any problem otherwise and occasionally they do walk through lawns, once famously through the automatic door of a large grocery store and they had to call animal welfare to get him safely out.
Yeah to keeping those pretty flowers alive and flourishing.
I’ve never seen those swim coverups. What a nice idea! Great pictures of you with cute kids. That is one smart moose! The moose really knows how to cool off! I’d love to check out those interviews. They sound so interesting.
Love the moose, love the kiddos, want you to be my auntie too 😀 Have a wonderful week!
You HAVE to know this is the best part of my week , right? Those kids just make me smile from ear to ear – truly! I adore seeing pictures of you two with the littles. Melts my heart.
Those beach towel covers are adorable and look useful, too! It’s fun to make those kinds of things, but when you can buy it for less, you might as well. Love the photos at the science museum – those are such great places! And that moose video – hilarious! We all like to run through sprinklers, right?!
The beach covers are adorable along with the models!
Oh my goodness such adorable kids and those towels! That Moose is Huge! What a fun post. mary
Happy to see you funning around with your littles and also glad to see some selfies here – which one is Sue and which one is ***you***?
HA! Curious minds want to know…
😀
Another fun post to read, and seeing you two with the littles makes me smile. So thankful the hot, humid weather is gone. We are having lovely days here. Next time we head to Milwaukee, I’ll let you know!
The kiddos are so cute and I love those swim coverups! Thanks for the link to Melva loves scraps. It was interesting to read through some of the stories!
This all just makes me smile – you and Sue and the kiddos – just adorable. Happy Thursday – off to fetch my boy and do an errand/laundry (but he’s mine and a I love to do it!).
Such cuties in your photos! I love reading all your likes.
Kiddos are too too cute ♥ You and Sue are so lucky that you get to spend so much time with them!
