I Love Thursday #98 Blessing Abundance
This is the 98th post of things we love for the week. We post these loves each Thursday along with LeeAnna on her blog at Not Afraid of Color. Several additional friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out. You will surely find something to inspire you.
Love #1
New James Bond movie! Woohoo, a new James Bond movie is coming on April 8, 2020, in the US (earlier in the UK). Here’s the short synopsis I found about the flick:
“The film opens with James happily enjoying retirement in Jamaica, the 007 moniker having been passed along to a new agent, played by Captain Marvel breakout star, Lashana Lynch. But the arrival of a new threat in the form of Oscar-winner Rami Malek pushes Bond off the beach and back into action.”
James is allowed to retire?!! What next . . . and this is to be Daniel Craig’s final movie as our favorite spy.
Love #2
Food truck! As a celebration to a successful end to the summer, my school district brought in a food truck. For all the full-year employees, it was an extra special treat for lunch one day before the new school year starts (today).
We enjoyed the food truck on a beautiful sunny day, and we were all appreciative of the opportunity.
Love #3
Rainbow signs. We have some new signs welcoming students and visitors to our school site. Be your best self, work hard, be kind, we are Central, get involved, challenge your assumptions, and finally be grateful greet each entrant. I love the rainbow colors and their symbolism. A subtle message is relayed of tolerance and acceptance.
Love #4
Working Stiff. I am fairly certain that someone from the Thursday group suggested we read Working Stiff by Annelise Ryan. Sue and I have both read the first two books in this series (and Sue’s mom and sister as well)! It a cozy mystery book, and all of us have enjoyed the books greatly. Thank you to whoever it was that recommended the author to us!
Love #5
Dominic takes selecting his book very seriously – he even lost a sock! Is this the book I want to read now? Then it’s time for a little puzzle time with his sister. Addison, that piece goes right here and that block doesn’t belong there. Okay then, let’s share a good giggle together while we regroup in our new jammies. Addison says watch out, I’ll sit on you! And there’s one tired baby girl in her new Scotty jammies. Finally, remember the sock that Dominic lost . . . Addison says it’s a great chewy to ease tooth pain. ♥ ♥ ♥
Our other Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link above or along the sidebar on our website for more quilting fun – check out what our friends are up to. Like/follow us on our Facebook page and you can share your photos of what you’re working on. We would love to see them!
A great Thursday post! I hadn’t heard about the Bond flick, thank you! I saw Goldfinger when I was 17 on a trip to Phoenix with another girl who was applying for the same military scholarship I was. What freedom it was to be alone in the big city! And we chose to spend it with Bond. =) Addison is growing like a weed, too!
Oh the giggles had me giggling as well! And isn’t it so funny they both love socks?!?! It is such a delight to see them every week!
I love food trucks! I’ve always bought great food from them. Love the rainbow signs. I’ll have to look into that book series. Addison and Dominic are adorable! Have a great Labor Day weekend!
So much to love. School starts here after the Labour Day weekend on Tuesday; I’m pretty sure they have not been treated like you have been. How special is that! Love the rainbow signs. They all need so much support…it’s a brave new world out there. But meanwhile, love Dominic and Addison and their cute antics.
Aw, they are as cute as ever! I am not enthused about the new Bond, I much prefer 007 to be a male, call me whatever you want, but 007 will forever be a male. Half the fun is watching a hunky guy be dashing and daring! Same for Super heroes, I want them dashing and hunky, half dressed is good too. LOL! Now, if they want to create a woman spy character, go for it. Just don’t make her 007.
Fun post! The saga of the lost sock made me giggle too! Have a wonderful year at school, the food truck looks great! Hugs!
How can they replace James!?? Food trucks. So many different kinds now-a-days. Rainbow signs are pretty.
Oh, so fun to read! Now I’ll be waiting for the next 007 movie! Have a great school year. I started a new job this week, so I feel like I’m back at school with a lot of new faces. (I love it!)
I loved the signs at your school, Roseanne – colorful and such good messages for the kids! How great that they brought in a food truck for you, too! It’s always nice to have a change from your usual lunch. Thanks for the book recommendation. Always enjoy the pics of those kiddos – they look like they get along really well! 🙂
I love food trucks! It is like exploring something new without a restaurant commitment. Love the Annelise Ryan book series. I read a couple recently, next up for me is Stiff Penalty. OMG laughing so hard at Addison with Dominick’s sock in her mouth. Who knew stinky brother feet socks would be a remedy for teething pain!
a food truck is a great thing these days! Love all the colors at the school… I remember how much I looked at signs at school, and they do impact the students. We’re training adults here, to make good citizens! Thanks for the review… I have three recommendations so far from likes, an abundance of books! LeeAnna
So much fun to see those kids. Makes me smile. Will have to check out these new authors. Loved the Benni Harper books. She’d also started another series set in Northern Nevada but hasn’t had anything out for a while. Enjoy this first day of school!
So many wonderful loves – the food truck, the signs, the kiddos and of course, books and movies. I was an avid reader but have fallen off the wagon. I am missing it so time to get back to it!
Have you read the Earlene Fowler books, the Benni Harper series? It’s an older series with quilt names (and quilts involved in the plot). You might enjoy them if you haven’t read them. I also like Joanne Fluke’s Hannah Swensen series, because they are set in MN and have recipes in them (which I never make – haha). Those kiddos are too cute!
I think I heard Daniel Craig was retiring from James Bond after this newest feature next year – I like Bond!!
Wow the munchkins are growing so fast aren’t they! It’s always fun to watch a kid pick out a book so thoughtfully-one wonders what goes through their mind to make the choice.
Oh those two babies make me smile! Great start to my day, thank you! I love the rainbow signs in your school! And thank you for another author recommendation; will check her out. Just mentioned to someone that I really like Kate Atkinson; have you read her Jackson Brodie mysteries? They’re great. Food trucks? Yesss! Anywhere, but at school? Now that’s a gift!
Love the rainbow signs…the kids are too cute ♥♥
Got to see these two before our big office move, makes my week for me! So sweet! And now on to torture and pain…sigh…not a happy mover! Hate change except for these two…love watching them grow! So dang cute!!!
