  1. I have a question that has nothing to do with this post. I was reading your “about” page. In the post you mention that you used to own a “cross” store. What is that?

  2. Roseanne, sounds like you have an interesting challenge. I do not have any suggestions for fabric. When making pillows I like the envelope method. As fancy as these appear to be a zipper would probably be better. 😊

  3. I know the perfect fabric line for this project: Hearty Good Wishes Collection and More Hearty Good Wishes. It is by Janet Clare for Moda fabrics. I purchased a layer cake from Missouri Star Quilt about a year ago to make a quilt for a friend of mine that built big boats and owned a boat yard. It has sea birds, boats, lighthouses, and other sea related things. Keepsake Quilting also had it at one time in pre-cuts and yardage. Check it out. Can’t wait to see what you come up with.

I just did a little on line search for nautical quilting fabric and up popped some interesting choices, check it out.

Nautical theme based on that picture sounds wonderful, perfect for my house too 😉 as I live on Lake Erie. Zipper closing seems more professional, but I am fine with envelope backs; in fact some rather expensive shams I bought several years ago currently on my bed are envelope backs, now I think of it! Nope, haven’t seen shiplap style fabric but I’m sure it’s out there.

      Hi Sandra!
I am sorry for not replying earlier! This message went into spam for some reason, and I guess I do check that often enough. I have found what I believe to be the ‘perfect’ fabric. When it arrives I’ll be sure to share the details. Thanks for the envelope back opinion. Those sure are MUCH easier to make, and I’m starting to feel the holiday stress weighing me down. No reason for it though, so I need to fight that off! Thank you so much for visiting and commenting – I appreciate it very much. ~smile~ Roseanne
P.S. It is FREEZING here today – literally. I’ll bet it gets quite chilly near Lake Erie. I hope you aren’t on the Buffalo side with all that snow they always receive?! I have nothing to complain about if you do!

Please leave a reply - we would love to hear from you!
