Love Shack Baby Love Shack
Are you humming that song now? I couldn’t help myself. This is actually called the Love Quilt in my mind but for some reason I went to that song. It’s a hard one to get out of my mind so once I pass it on (to you), I can forget it. ~smile~ Now on to the Love quilt.
We picked up this charm pack and coordinating fabric for a border a while ago. Technically one year ago last December, if you really want to know. We laid out all the charms on the island, and then I took a picture. That was after we moved them around for a bit. As you can see in the picture above, we still missed some fabrics concentrated in one area. Columns three and four have all three of the red wavy hearts. We did break them up before I started sewing.
The fabrics and pattern just appealed to us and Sue decided that she is going to use the embroidery sewing machine exclusively to quilt this.
We thought a joined heart might be appropriate and fun for a change. Of course, the perfect backing needs to be selected before we can layer it up. I’m also going to try my hand at importing a design into the embroidery sewing machine. Wish me luck! She probably won’t get to actually quilting until after the 16th because she has two projects for a class she is taking.
Love Shack Flimsy
Here is the flimsy before she started the embroidery process. I just love the red, white and taupe combination. This is one that doesn’t have a planned home, yet it might be hard for me to part with it. Do you have the same issue parting with fabrics you love?!
