Miscellaneous Stuff & Quilting Deadline
Last time we picked up a quilt from Corner to Corner (Cubs Clark quilt), we learned that it is about to be their busy season. Apparently they do a lot of quilting for upcoming quilt shows. Keeping that in mind, and knowing that we have two more queen size quilts to get finished before fall we decided we need to ramp it up! We set this weekend as a deadline for two quilts . . . plus . . .
Deadline #1
As I mentioned on Tuesday, the Pinwheel Rail Fence has 10 rows complete. It only needs 3 or 4 more rows to finish it off. Best news of all – that means I only have 5 more strip sets to sew. ~big smile~
Deadline #2
The animal quilt – bear, eagle, wolf and deer quilt is really coming along. That is the second quilt that will be finished this weekend. While it doesn’t match this cute drawing from the original request, I am hoping they will love it anyway:
Maybe a Weekend Deadline
The blocks from the I Wish You A Merry QAL are released on Tuesdays. We NEED to finish up block one this weekend, too. It is all appliqué so that takes some time. Tracing the pattern on Heat ‘n Bond, ironing it, cutting it out, carefully placing it on the fabric, ironing it down, sewing around each piece. Ugg. Not my favorite form of quilting. Hopefully the next block will be pieced. ~smile~ I do LOVE the fabrics we selected for this QAL:
Oooh, just look how pretty those look. ~big smile~ I will love appliqué just to use those fabrics.
No Real Deadline
We are designing a jigsaw puzzle baby quilt pattern. We made a queen size version for our friends Lauren and Joey as a wedding gift. You can see the quilt as a header on our Facebook website and now we are going to make an smaller version. I thought we should write a pattern for it . . . we’ll see how that goes.
I found this really cute table topper on Pinterest that I think we should make for Janice. It is called Spinning Star Table Topper. It is exactly her colors – the only issue is that it is too big. She wants something 19″ x 19″ and this tutorial is for a 32″ square topper. In theory it should be easy to do the math to make it smaller . . . just not right this minute. Here is a picture of it – isn’t it pretty and cool?!?!?!
Okay, that’s enough chatting for one post. Besides, I have two queen size quilts to finish this weekend . . . so I’d better go sew. ~smile~

That looks like a challenging quilt topper!
Hi Myra – If I could figure out the math I would give this a try . . . but my brain is having issues with plain old addition lately so I’m going to pick something easier. For now anyway! I sure this it would look good with her gray walls and taupe granite. Thanks so much for your visit and comment! ~smile~ Roseanne
Boy, you all have a list that will keep you busy. Love your Christmas fabrics and looking forward to seeing your blocks for the QAL.
Hi Peggy! Gotta meet that deadline for this weekend . . . quilts are being dropped off on Monday! One way or another! HAHA
