I have an Elna 8300, the big sister to this machine and I purchased mine in 2007 at the Houston Quilt Show. I have been an Elna girl since I started sewing on my mother’s 1950’s era machine and still LOVE my Elnas. You can interchange feet from Janome (Janome is the owner of Elna now) so that gives you lots of options for add ons. You will LOVE the bigger throat space. I recently finished quilting a large queen size quilt using free motion motifs. Enjoy!

Hi – I am SO thrilled to hear this. I want to get into FMQ, rulers, and everything else I can. HAHA I am thinking about trying a queen size quilt that should be finished by the end of the month. I need to just do it – it’s only fabric, right?! ~smile~ Roseanne

Sorry, I made a mistake, My 8300 is my embroidery machine, My regular machine is a 7300. Still a great machine and I still love them both!

I have an Elna Excellence 720 I bought 5 years ago. I LOVE my machine. I LOVE the big throat. That is one reason I’ve started quilting my smaller quilts. You think you LOVE your machine now, wait until you start using her. Congratulation on the new machine.

Hi Gretchen! I am thrilled to hear you love your Elna. Honestly, as soon as I saw how big the throat area was (as I may have mentioned once or twice!), it was all over. I knew she was coming home with us. I have a lesson on Tuesday . . . so I have been patiently NOT using her. Or not so patiently is more the case. Thank you so much for your sweet comment and visiting – come again! ~smile~ Roseanne
