Nobody’s Perfect Quilt a.k.a. Love Quilt
Nobody’s Perfect is how Sue renamed the Love Quilt. This quilt actually has had several names, starting as the Love Shack. That was just slightly mean to begin with – it was meant to get you humming that song by the B-52s. It is rather catchy!
Nobody’s Perfect Beginnings
This little quilt was started for the Valentine’s blog hop that we participated in yesterday. Check out the post if you missed it – lots of good stuff from all the bloggers! We had a cute little charm pack that was begging for us to use, and so we did.
Right around Thanksgiving we laid out these pieces from the charm pack. After moving things around a bit (we tried to break up those same three patterned pieces from the center two columns) we ended up with this quilt top. That was a productive weekend!
I can see a few more that should have been moved around but c’est la vie. We layered this up with some cute fabric that has hearts on the back as well. Don’t you think this is really cute for a backing?
Sue took over the quilting. Yes, you heard that right! She used our Brother embroidery machine and did a two overlapping hearts design. I set her up with white thread in the top and bobbin, and she set to work. Twenty of the blocks have red hearts which required a Gutermann thread change. I wasn’t allowed to take a photo of her hard at work . . . maybe next time.
Nobody’s Perfect Revealed
Once the quilting was finished, it was trimmed and binding was sewn on. Are you wondering why Sue renamed this quilt? She said that nobody’s perfect and we still love them; using that same philosophy she said the quilt hearts aren’t perfect but she hopes someone will still love it. I do and I think someone else will too!
The fabric on the border and in a few of the blocks reminds me of the nursing fabric we found with the heart monitor.
This quilt doesn’t have a home yet. It may find itself listed on Etsy. The finished size is 36″ x 41.5″ before it has been washed.
