Olive Juice Quilts, Onalaska, WI – Road Trip
On the road again, heading toward South Dakota and Mount Rushmore. We stopped in the best quilt shop we have EVER visited. It’s called Olive Juice Quilts in Onalaska, Wisconsin. It’s near LaCrosse, Wisconsin and the great Mississippi River.
The shop is quite welcoming from the outside with a table and chair and a free library exchange box right near the entrance. Once we stepped inside, we saw tons of fabric, patterns and models. If we couldn’t find what we needed in this shop, then it just didn’t exist. Here are a couple of pictures that I snapped there.
Olive Juice Models:
Olive Juice is participating in the Wisconsin Shop Hop as well as the Row by Row (and we saw a sneak peak at their license plate). We picked up the free pattern and got our passport stamped. We also purchased a kit for a table runner featuring the special Wisconsin fabric that is only available for the shop hop.
One of the most inviting areas of Olive Juice was their studio area. It was a huge room with high (20 feet??) ceilings and tables set up for sewing. I didn’t ask but I am sure they offer quilting classes – I would have loved to take a few classes in their studio!
Always keeping our eyes open for baby must haves, we saw the sweetest princess quilt that featured all of them. Of course, we don’t know if our sweet baby-to-be is a girl or boy so we just made a note for now.
I had to snap a photo of this pinwheel model . . . since I’m always drawn to those! Honestly, if you are ever in the area of Onalaska, Wisconsin this is a do-not-miss shop! Actually, this shop is not THAT far away for us – we can definitely visit again soon.
