Quilt Corner in Sparta, WI – Road Trip
Our first quilt shop visit on the road to Mount Rushmore is called Quilt Corner in Sparta, Wisconsin. Now are you thinking of the old TV show, In The Heat of the Night?!! Have that tune in your head yet? I do! It was the perfect time to stop for a break. We had just come through a torrential downpour for a few hours and needed a fun focus.
Quilt Corner in Sparta Models
The Quilt Corner was having a class that morning – a monthly meeting that had over 100+ members. Crystal, one of the owners and pictured in our header photo, told me that not all of the members showed up for the meeting though!! Good thing – it would have been really crowded. It looked like a fun group though. ~smile~
Quilt Corner has a lot of fabric choices as well as models. It is located in a converted home that makes an appealing shop space. The upstairs has a few rooms with finished quilts and more tempting fabrics and patterns. I was able to snap a few pictures of some of their models that were tempting us. Notice the snowman theme – it was hot outside, not that I want to think of snow. We just had to purchase the pattern for this lovely quilt featuring a young girl reading. Since Sue is a reading teacher and we both love to read, it was a must have. Unfortunately, the pattern does not include the silhouette.
This is another shop that we would definitely stop in again when we are in the area. The shop owner and the other customers were very friendly and welcoming. Tom found a few chairs on the front porch to patiently wait for us shoppers. ~smile~
