Road Trip – Attic Quilts, Beloit, Wisconsin
I crafted a road trip, or a shop hop of our own making if you will. Sue, Carol and I headed out one Saturday morning for some hop fun. One stop was in Beloit, Wisconsin to a shop named Attic Quilts. I overestimated the time needed to drive there, so we were able to partake in the Farmer’s Market right outside their front door. It had many great offerings.
I was able to chat with Sally, the shop owner for a bit. She said that this was their fourth location since they opened. They were originally in the second story of a home, truly an attic – hence the name. She also mentioned that they had been on the same block in three different locations. That is a LOT of moving, and we all know how easy and light fabric bolts are. ~smile~ Please note that over Sally’s right shoulder is the winning project for this year’s Row by Row Experience. The winner hand-dyed her fabrics. It is really beautiful in person – the picture doesn’t do it justice at all!
The front of the store had many new patterns, many of them bags which gave us pause. Who doesn’t enjoy looking at new patterns and bags?! I got Carol to pose for me. ~smile~ Right in front of Carol is a display of lacy zippers – those look SO cool on the finished bags.
I also found their fat quarter selection to be just fabulous – look at all of them and how nicely displayed they are! We were able to pick up the Row by Row free pattern here. It is really cute – a truck pulling a camper. I know my niece in Oklahoma would love this so she might just find my copy in her mailbox soon. This is a shop that we would love to visit again, and will do so soon. ~smile~
Our Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link for more quilting fun – check out what our friends are up to. Like/follow us on our Facebook page and share your current project or great find. We would love to see them. ~smile~
Sounds like fun! It’s interesting to see the Row By Rows.
Hi Nancy! The hand dyed fabrics are just beautiful – the photo doesn’t do it justice at all. ~smile~ Roseanne
Looks like a fun trip. I notice you didn’t post your purchases. 🙂
Hmm, I don’t think I picked up anything at this shop. Just the row by row pattern . . . if memory serves me correctly. It is a nice shop though – I would definitely visit it again. ~smile~ Roseanne
