Shoutout to UFOs Being Finished
Are you thinking we have a fun-filled post sharing a bunch of finished UFOs? UFOs, by the way, is the acronym for UnFinished Objects or quilting projects in this case. That would be correct, except that these finished UFOs are not our finishes. Fellow blogger, Donnalee at DonnaleeQ shared a post talking her UFOs. She said they were “all over the place” and I found I could totally relate to that. Sue just complained to me that we have several projects in various stages. It seems ‘we’ have a problem with too many ongoing projects at the same time. Truthfully, the problem lies in the fact that they’re not on “The Master List”. Sue is the list keeper and I am the list adder. I confess but I digress.
Are UFOs a Problem?
Who doesn’t have a few UFOs hanging around? I suspect most of us do and they are in various stages of being finished. Donnalee has been focusing on hers and she even told me UFO was her middle name. HAHA! I think that might not be true – her mother couldn’t have possibly known she would be a quilter later in life, right?! Donnalee has given 23 quilt tops to the charity division of her guild. TWENTY-THREE!
In her most recent post, Donnalee shared this pretty half-finished quilt top using Tilda fabric.
As I was looking on Donnalee’s website, I stumbled upon this eye-catching sentence: “Not sure what gets into me, but I saw a pattern on line and thought I can use up scraps.” Hmm. That doesn’t sound like anyone I know, does it?! I saw something on
Recently, the Country Cross Road Quilters guild in Modesto, California, gave 290 quilts to three different agencies in the area that care for children in crisis and hospice patients.
UFOs Shoutout Deserved
Donnalee’s impressive donation, as well as that of her local Guild, prompted me to ask her if I could share the details here. Sewing and quilting are fun, but it’s even more fun (for us) to have a purpose. Twenty-three purposes, in this case. Thank you, Donnalee!
