To-Do #52+38 Weekly Recap Update
This is our 90th edition of our weekly to-do list and it’s New Year’s Eve. We hope you had a wonderful 2018, and an even better 2019! Usually we share this post on Beth’s Cooking Up Quilts website on Mondays, and Christine’s Stitch All the Things website on Tuesdays. I don’t think that’s going to happen this week, but we’ll see! Check it out as other friends post their to-do lists as well! ~smile~
To-Do for the week of December 24th through 30th:
- Celebrate Christmas Eve – √ done
- Have lunch with my sister – √ done
- Finish the Jigsaw baby quilt – √ done
To-Do #1
We had a wonderful time on Christmas Eve. One of the best things was the kiddos playing together. I know it’s not Thursday, my usual day for sharing Dominic photos. These are from Christmas Eve though.
On the left, is the adoring look Dominic gave his older cousin, Jaxson. Jaxson was greeting D each time he made his round around the island. Oh how the giggles were flowing. In the photo on the right, D was ‘helping’ Lily pack up her gifts. The bag makes a wonderful rattling sound! Lastly, and not captured with a photo, is D being wrapped in Miki’s arms and her new blanket. Just before he was released to continue his rounds, a kiss was planted on top of his head. That made it all the more special. Why didn’t I get a picture of that?!! I was enjoying it too much . . . ~smile~
To-Do #2
Sue and I drove to my sister’s house in Woodstock, IL. It was a rainy day, but the company inside was cheery. Her Christmas tree was lit, the lasagna-like dish she served was smelling good in the oven, and the conversation was fun. We don’t see her or my brother-in-law often enough, plus we had the added benefit of my niece joining us. She’s just six months younger than I. It must have been a hoot when my mom and sister were both pregnant at the same time. It’s nice to gather together with our peeps at this time of the year. ♥ ♥
To-Do #3
I am beyond thrilled to say that our Jigsaw baby quilt is complete. All the details were shared last Friday, but here’s a photo to share.
December OMG
This month we chose to finish quilting and binding our Jigsaw baby quilt. As shown just above, the quilt is all finished and bound. That’s a whole year of successfully completing the OMG goals.
Extra
We threw a Dr. Seuss together as a DrEAMi moment. First of all, the blocks were cut out Friday night by Sue. After that, I put the quilt top together on Saturday, and Sunday it was quilted. Finally, just the binding was left before it was going up for sale in our Etsy shop.
To-Do December 31st through January 6th
- Start a new quilt for Sue to hand quilt
- Make January Bee Hive blocks for Jan
- Finish off the binding for the impromptu Dr. Seuss quilt

Happy New Year, Roseanne and Sue! Your jigsaw puzzle quilt is adorable- such a happy quilt! The only picture more adorable is Dominic, who is clearly the most loved and sweetest child around. Thanks for sharing.
So glad you finished your puzzle quilt and it sounds like you have had lovely days! I am trying to imagine a mother and daughter being pregnant at the same time – I just can’t! Hope things start to progress soon on baby g front….thinking of them and a safe delivery for all.
Hello Roseanne and Sue, I sure have had a lot of fun getting to know the two of you this year and am totally looking forward to 2019 with the two of you also! How wonderful all of the fabulous quilts that you have accomplished this year and shared with us! Plus, all of the adventures with Dominic and the remainder of your family. Family rocks this life and holds this world together! I had to giggle while reading about the closeness in age, my Grandmother and her oldest daughter were pregnant at the same time which resulted in my oldest cousin and my youngest Aunt. They all got teased about it through the years. Yet, being the close family we are, it just helped to make us all that much closer somehow. You two are going to be rolling on the floor laughing at me…and that is fine, because that is what Hubby and I were doing. Guess what I did in some huge bizarre way that we sure in the heck can not figure out. Yep, I somehow lost all of the work on my blog. It is gone…..no where to be found! I went to finish up some stuff last night and naughta nothing nowhere!!!! I almost started crying, that is when hubby came in asking what had happened and as I was explaining, I could not help but start laughing because believe it or not stuff like this does happen to me all the time. It is insane and the way that hubby was looking, I had to laugh to give him permission or he was going to explode the poor man. So within a few minutes, we were both laughing insanely and the poor puppies were feeling so left out they were bouncing all over the bed wanting to be the center of attention and I gave up closed the computer and we just played with our babies for awhile and then life went on. I will try something again today. I wish the two of you the best in 2019! Happy New Year!!!
You have had a very productive year! Happy New Year to you and Sue. I look forward to more of your adventures in 2019. I’m still not blogging!!
I discovered your blog in 2018 and how I look forward to your posts, the finished and unfinished projects you share and I’ve learned a lot from you and Sue. Of course, the icing on the cake always is your pictures of Dominic. Happy New Year to both of you.
Oh that is such a cute photo of Dominic and his cousin. Happy New Year with lots of quilts in your year!
Looks like a great time was had by D!! LOL Happy New Year 🎊
Happy New Year!!
Hi Roseanne! Dominic is such a cutie! Glad you were able to spend time with family for the holidays!
Happy New Year to you and Sue — wishing you both many blessings!
Oh that boy!! The quilt is too cute as well. Happy healthy new year to you and Sue. I must confess when I saw the post I scampered to read it hoping for a Baby Girl update! Blessings friend!
Happy New Year to you and Sue! I think 2019 is going to be a good one!
I have a package of 10″ Berenstein Bear fabric. I just don’t what to do with them because I don’t want to cut the squares into smaller pieces. Your Dr Suess quilt gave me the idea, I have a plan now and hopefully you’ll see the small quilt sometime in 2019. Have a Happy New Year!
I tried to post but it told me I’m invalid…such is life! Let’s see if this one goes through…just wanted to wish you and your extended family all the best in 2019 and to thank you for starting my 2019 off with an extra Dominic fix!
