To-Do Listing #53 Update
This is our 53rd edition of our weekly to-do list. The start of our second year of these lists. We share this post on Beth’s Cooking Up Quilts website on Monday, and Tuesday’s linky party can be found on Christine’s Stitch All the Things website. ~smile~
To-Do for the week April 9th through 15th:
- Order fabric for new Mystery QAL – √ done
- Sew strips together for
16-patchSpiral quilt – √ done
- Sew borders on one GK table runner – √ done
- Quilt another quarter of the Animal panel quilt – √ done
We joined the second Mystery QAL hosted by Tracy and Cindy. It started on April 1, and we did order the fabric for this QAL from Connecting Threads along with another coordinating fabric from the same line. We discussed a few ideas for this project but we have until the end of June to get it finished. We’ll duke it out and come up with a mutually approved project.
Sue has opened two jelly rolls to make two of the 16-patch Framed 4-patch quilt. That name is so user unfriendly – I’m going to come up with a different name. I started sewing the centers of the framed blocks. We did make it once before, and it is a nice pattern in that it uses up almost ALL of the jelly roll. I spiral quilted it which was fun as well. Maybe I’ll refer to this quilt as Spiral going forward. The photo on the left shows the first Spiral quilt, and the photo on the right shows our center blocks with two frames loosely laid around them.
Back to work on the UFO list, and I really want to get these Grandma’s Kitchen blocks into table runners. There are three more of them to make – but one at a time works for me. The first one we are adding navy borders and sashing to the five blocks.
Since our April goal is half done, I don’t feel I need to stress over it too much. But I do want to make sure it is complete with the binding by the end of the month. Little Dominic loves to poke at those diamond shapes that are formed by the crosshatch on the diagonal. He can’t figure out why he can’t pick them up!
April OMG Goal:
Our Elm Street Quilts April OMG goal is to quilt and bind the second animal panel quilt. This is also on our PHD list of UFOs.
To-Do April 16th through 22nd:
- Determine a layout for I Spy (and start sewing?)
- Frame centers for Spiral
- Layer GK table runner #1 and quilt
- Wrap up quilting on our April OMG
We wish you a week filled with many blessings and good sewing/quilting vibes!
