To-Do Tuesday Edition #15
Here is our 15th edition of our to-do list. It was a little light, but the baby shower is behind us now:
To-Do Tuesday for the week July 18th – July 24th:
- Sew block #4 in the QAL – √ done
- Make more mug rugs and microwave cozies for the shower – √ done
- Host the shower and recover – √ done
#1
Here is the fourth block in the Pat Sloan’s quilt along called Grandma’s Kitchen. I had a little issue when I sewed one square upside down – can’t read the pattern apparently. I am having fun doing this quilt along – we need to expand our horizons. We are going to do a Christmas one that starts on August 1st as well . . . ~smile~
#2
We had 17 mug rugs and 14 microwave cozies for the baby shower, as well as a few other miscellaneous cozies we made for requests. I raised my hand to make some additional cozies for my sister-in-law. She volunteers for an animal shelter and they have a fund raiser in December. Thanksgiving is my deadline for more. I did adapt several instructions that I found online – let me know if you’d like specifics.

Cozy wrapped up for the shower
#3
We love our niece but I am glad the shower is behind us now. There were quite a few attendees. We wanted everything to be perfect, so we probably stressed more than was necessary. They received so many nice gifts. This baby-to-be has a lot of people waiting to him/her to be born, ready to lavish on the love.
Extra Finishes:
We picked up the Jimmy John and the Cubs Clark quilts from the quilting service, and got the bindings added to them. Jimmy John delivered and shared in a post last week. Clark will be shared very soon! Their sibling’s quilt is getting some attention now, too. We also got the birth announcement borders added, as well as the mystery baby quilt HSTs made. I think that’s pretty good!

Three rows together for Pinwheel Rail Fence – colors are actually navy, medium and light blue (not white)
To-Do Tuesday starting July 25th:
- Sew block #5 in the QAL
- Continue work on the pinwheel rail fence
- Decide on the layout for the mystery baby quilt – chevron, pinwheel, who knows??
- Give the animal quilt some loving attention
- Take pictures of the color palette for Janice’s table topper and placemats
I’ll give you an update on these projects next Tuesday, August 1st. How did it get to be almost August already?!!

I can see how you get so much done……..write the list and publish it! WOW sooo busy! I start a lot of sew alongs and when I get behind I am not sure if I want to continue with all of it OR go on to the next one!! But I like the idea of a list for the week….this blog is inspiring! AND thanks for visiting my blog!
Hi Caryl,
Yup – you are on to me! I absolutely hate setting a goal for the week and then not meeting it. If I get too ambitious, I don’t get things completed and my list has to reflect that . . . so it’s better to have the list on the light side. It’s been working for me as long as I’ve been writing this blog – not too long, but a few quilts have been finished. Thank you so much for your sweet comments and encouragement AND thanks for visiting my blog! I’ll visit your’s again – I promise. ~smile~ Roseanne
So fun to see those red check marks saying done – such a great feeling isn’t it? And so nice of you to make all of those cozies. What they’re filled with looks so yummy! Thanks for sharing on Midweek Makers today!
Hi Susan! I did kind of set myself up for success with those check marks! HAHA Love these to-do lists – keeps me motivated. ~smile~ Roseanne (And that popcorn was good!)
What an intense week of work! Hosting showers is definitely stressful work, I can understand needing recover time! Love the cozies and I’m excited to see the Clark quilt finish!
Hi again! Aww, you are sweet. I hope William loves the quilt – he has been too busy to have it delivered yet. ~smile~ Roseanne
Wow! Makes me tired to read all that y’all completed. I need some of your motivation. 🙂
Hi Paggy! I have five more days off in a row starting tomorrow so I expect great thing to be accomplished, but that remains to be seen. ~smile~ Roseanne
Great presentation for the microwave cozies. Would like to know your short cut. My family likes them.
Nice quilt.
Hi Marcy! Well, you could blow me over with a whisper. I never thought anyone would care to hear how we made the cozies. HAHA! Let me see if can give you a short, succinct answer unless you think you want a post and pictures?
Me too on the cozies. I love shortcuts.
Wow – two people interested. I will get it together in a post – just need to take a few more pictures. It will get me going on the ones I need to make for my sister-in-law. Thanks for asking! ~smile~ Roseanne
Now I bet you are sorry you offered. 🙂 Thanks.
Hi Peggy! No, I am not sorry at all! I’m thrilled someone wants to know . . . ~smile~ Roseanne
You sure accomplished a lot and that baby shower sounds amazing. The pattern for #4 block wasn’t my favourite, but I adapted my thoughts to fit!! Will enjoy seeing you get into your animal and new Christmas QAL. I am going to join one at Jacquelynne Steves blog called I Love Home which starts 7th Aug.
Hi Kathryn! That new QAL sounds like fun. I do indeed love HOME. I will have to check out her blog. ~smile~ Roseanne
