To-Do Tuesday Edition #8
Our eighth to-do edition – I find these so motivating! Here is last week’s list (which was a bit ambitious):
To-Do Tuesday for the week May 30th – June 5th:
- Figure out the blue/gray quilt center column issue
- Eagle hoodie memory pillow √ finished
- Start hand quilting ABC hanging √ it is started . . .
- Start machine quilting elephant quilt √ finished
- Find fabric for the Cubs quilt
- Another spiral quilt (Rainy Day fabric), confetti quilt, and disappearing 9-patch
- Start a new baby quilt . . . with a tutorial . . . here’s a sneak peak of the fabric we found in our stash that I forgot all about:
#1
I give up on the blue/gray quilt for now. I don’t care about it. Well, I do . . . but will revisit it when we get back from South Dakota.
#2
A good friend of mine just recently died. He was a veteran and had served in Vietnam. His longtime friend and companion requested that I make a memory pillow out of an Eagle hoodie that he often wore and loved. She especially wanted the pockets to put her hands in while holding the pillow. I’ll have to write a separate post for this . . . because he deserves it. ~smile~
#3
Sue has the ABC wall hanging in a hoop. Just a few stitches have been made. It’s on its way!
#4
Ellie the elephant is all finished. We were going to call our elephant Eli or Ellie, depending on the gender of the baby. But I think this quilt is Ellie and we’ll disregard the gender of our baby. You know I’ll share an update with you . . . but Mom and Dad have to see it first. At least you don’t have to wait for the actual baby! ~smile~
#5
Still didn’t even look for the fabric for the Cubs quilt. We spent some time discussing how we can accomplish this quilt successfully. Also, we were able to decide on the pattern for John’s queen size blue quilt. I’m not sure of the actual name, but it is a version of a rail fence that creates a pinwheel. So, I’m cleverly calling it Pinwheel Rail Fence blue quilt and here is a sample that I found on Pinterest:

Pinwheel Rail Fence
We’re even going to use similar colors with three shades of solid blue.
#6 and #7
What was I thinking? Six and seven items on a one week to-do list? Seriously?! Sue started cutting out the next baby quilt, and is even taking pictures for a tutorial.
To-Do Tuesday starting June 6th:
- Baby Fox wall hanging
- Sew tutorial baby quilt
Did I make this list too short?!! I don’t think so, with the end of school and a birthday! ~smile~
I’ll give you an update on these projects next Tuesday, June 13th. Our Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link for more quilting fun. Like and follow us on our Facebook page!
Finished is great. Started is so good. Dreaming of getting to a project can be inspiring! I’ve made too long of lists too, like maybe even this week! Ellie must look fab all quilted up. How special to make that hoodie pillow from you friend’s clothing. Sorry for your loss.
Hi Sharon! Thanks for your kind words – I still can’t believe he’s gone. But he will always be in our hearts. Oooh, wait until you see Ellie – she’s adorbs if I do say so myself. And she’s not even washed yet! ~smile~ Roseanne
Whew! That was an ambitious list! Best thing about lists is that they can be altered…. I like that part, A LOT! 😉
I’m sorry for the loss of your friend. What a special way to be able to remember him though, I love the idea of a memory pillow!
Love that Rail Fence Pinwheel pattern too! What a great idea, I can’t wait to see how that turns out. I am super excited to see pictures of the Elephant quilt too!
Hi Christine. Aww, you are so sweet. The memory pillow posts tomorrow and Ms. A-dam-orable Ellie the elephant posts on Thursday. OMG – I am SO happy with how it turned out. I picked up Dreft tonight so I can wash it for the baby . . . Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting. ~smile~ Roseanne
Your Pinwheel Rail quilt is awesome! Great design! Yes, I add too much on my own lists as well…. 🙂 Thank you for sharing!
Hi Patricia! Yes, I am thinking that pinwheel rail fence pattern will be easy – at least I hope so! ~smile~ Roseanne
