To-Do Tuesday Linky #10 & Weekly Progress Update
This is the 131st edition of the weekly to-do list and the tenth post as a linky party here on our website. Thanks to everyone who joined us last week.
To-Do for the week of October 8th through 14th:
- Appliqué Fiona (
and maybe even quilt it) – √ done - Pull fabrics for October’s block of the month– √ done
- Layer Lovey the Llama for quilting – √ done
I had off on Wednesday, and I lined up all my projects early. Before going grocery shopping at 7:30am, I had most of these all complete!
We also had some little ones as a distraction later on that same Wednesday. All of us were absorbed with Auntie Sue! This picture makes my heart SO happy!
To-Do #1
Sweet little Fiona was born recently, and we wanted to make a wall hanging (or two) for her. Last Wednesday morning dawned early, and the first thing on my day off list to-do was to appliqué Fiona’s name. Big huge checkmark!
To-Do #2
Sunday afternoon was dismal, the Packers weren’t playing, and worst of all the Eagles couldn’t/didn’t beat the Vikings. We headed back into the sewing room for a little bit of time and the Cutting Department got the beautiful red fabrics ready for the October challenge block of the month. Oh, how we love red and especially this red fabric!
To-Do #3
Lovey the llama started out as a squirrel project back in August. It was put on-hold then because we had thought we would add Fiona’s name to the side, lengthwise. Since we had to wait to find out Fiona’s name we couldn’t finish Lovey right away. Then we changed our mind and made a separate wall hanging (#1).
Lovey gave me a serious look when sewing on the borders – do a good job or she’ll spit! Well, that scared me straight and I tried my hardest. Lovey was also warned that spitting is NOT allowed. We tell Dominic and Addison the same thing – no preferential treatment allowed for a llama.
October OMG
For our October OMG, we’ll be making the aforementioned day pack or backpack for Catherine. Thanks to Patty’s Elm Street Quilts website and her linky party for motivating us each month.
To-Do for the week of October 15th through 21th
- Quilt and bind both Fiona and Lovey hangings
- Start and finish the day bag for Catherine – her birthday is FRIDAY
- Sew the October block if there’s time
- Start sewing the first block for pattern testing
Here is the linkup and just a few easy rules to follow:

3 nice projects! Won’t those 2 make cute wallhangings for the new little one?!
Your llamas are so cute! My granddauther is really into them as well! Lovely projects!
That llama is precious. What a lucky girl Fiona is!
Hello Roseanne, What a fabulous way to start my morning with pictures of the little ones surrounding Sue and her with that special smile and twinkle in her eyes! Definitely a keeper to have by your desk or by hers also! The Llama is fabulous and I got a laugh about the spitting. Looking forward to seeing both of these wall hangings finished! I do not watch sports of any kind, but I got a great big laugh with Vicki in MN comment to you!!! Growing up with parents who were football fans and all other relatives were football fans, I know all of the excitement that goes on during games. Since we live so far away now, my Moms brothers all call her during football games and they tease each other during commercials, but it is time to go when the game comes back on. You have a fabulous day! Thank you for sharing!
Great job checking off the list! And Lovely Llama is looking good!
I also love your llama! She is adorable! I’m not a football fan at all but am enjoying the MLB playoffs though I honestly don’t care who wins. Have a great day, Mary.
I have no feelings one way or another about the Vikings (gasp!); the Twins are a whole ‘nother matter, but we won’t talk about them either. Love that red fabric, the littles with Sue is too cute, and of course I love the llama!
So much goodness – I love red!! But that picture of Sue and the littles! That ruffle butt! Those little feet! The pure joy on Sue’s face! Melts my heart!
3 Finishes – you go girl!
Oh and: Auntie Sue is a cutie, too! Surrounded by the other two cuties.
Ahem, I spy that dotted swiss fabric in with the red you like so much. What a workhorse fabric. Just sayin’…
I’m not a Llama lover…in the flesh. But that runner is true to form and easy to like! The color palette is great, too.
Your llama is super cute! Great picture of Sue and the kids.
We are Packers fans also…I still cheer for the Eagles & Vikings, some of the players are friends of my son and I remember them from their college days!
I love your llama, too! Glad you have her back on the list!
I am sure you meant to say how happy you were the Vikings won, ROFLOL. Just kidding as I am not a football fan anyways,LOL
Absolutely love llamas!!! I have this pattern and haven’t started it yet…looks so dang cute!
