To-Do Tuesday Linky #20 & Weekly Progress Update
Join us for the 20th linky party post and the 140th edition of the weekly to-do list. Thanks to everyone who linked up with us last week.
To-Do for the week of December 17th through 23rd:
- Sewing time?? – √ done
- Wrap presents – make fudge – √ done
- Start a project for Addison who turns one January 4th – √ done
To-Do #1
Have you had a lot of time for sewing? We really haven’t and that hasn’t stressed us out one bit. Sue has been tutoring a friend in Algebra this month and those sessions went right up to the end of the semester this week. I have felt like appliquéing but didn’t have a current project that was ready for me. So I read a couple books instead, the first in a series by Nancy Coco that Colette recommended.
It’s a good, light read and it makes me want to visit Mackinac Island right now! Plus, it also leads right into our to-do #2 nicely, doesn’t it?!
To-Do #2
Wrap presents and make fudge?! Yes, ma’am. I got both of those finished, and if you were wondering about my Recipe here is what I shared back in 2017 for the Virtual Cookie exchange. I always make it in a 9×13″ pan along with an 8×8″ pan so we have plenty, and this year I packed a cute Santa-shaped tin for my boss. Look how cute it is!
For a little extra fun, Sue and I went to visit my sister and have lunch. We brought her a pretty poinsettia plant as she wasn’t feeling particularly festive this year (she lost her husband and didn’t want to decorate). It is nice to be able to share some hugs, laughter, and most of all time with family and friends at this time of year.
To-Do #3
Our sweet baby girl will be turning one in January. How has the past year gone by so quickly? It seems like it was just yesterday that we were sure she would arrive for Christmas in 2018. But that was not to be. Here she is at 11 months. We started a new special quilt for her for her birthday but I can’t share the details yet. The pretty aqua Minky fabric can be shared – she just adores the soft textured fabrics like Minky.
I’ve never sewn or quilted with Minky before but I am hoping for good results.
December OMG
Thank you to Patty’s at Elm Street Quilts and her linky party which opened on December 1st. We were able to finish our last OMG project for 2019 with a quilt top of the monthly color blocks. I shared the details in our TGIFF linky post and will link this with Patty at the end of the month.
To-Do for the week of December 24th through 30th:
- Enjoy Christmas Eve with our peeps
- Continue on with Addison’s project
- Revisit the Quiet Book – it’s been ignored for ages!
Here is the linkup and just a few easy rules to follow:
- Share your post or Instagram photo in the linky tool (but don’t share a link to your own linky party or giveaway)
- Please point your readers back here with a text link or use the button from the right sidebar
- Please visit and comment on other participants’ messages as time allows
You will find the link-ups displayed on a separate screen. I hope you check them out and/or add your own link! Next week for the last linky party of 2019 we’ll be having a giveaway.
The Linky Parties we join can be found by clicking the link above or along the sidebar on our website for more quilting fun – check out what our friends are up to. Like/follow us on our Facebook page and you can share your photos of what you’re working on. We would love to see them!
Great goals for the week of Christmas. Hope you’ve been able to meet each one. I didn’t link up this week due to the drama at our house this week, but I hope to be back next week.
You are busy! I love the recipe reminders, not that I need one more bit of any of it. Ordered some fabrics for maybe using with 2020 challenge…we will see if it works – my Christmas pressie to me! Hope yours was happy – we just returned from travel and I am glad not to have a vat of cookies to eat! Looking forward to seeing Addison’s pressent and wishing you good luck with the Minky!
I just wanted to apologize for not linking up like I promised to when you hosted TGIFF. The computer was acting up and I almost gave up blogging altogether . Thanks to my friend Scott things seem to be on track again. Whew.
Hope you get all your goals accomplished for this week, but most of all, have a very Happy Holiday!
Some great loves this week. Fudge is a favorite of everyone. I make mine with frosting and chocolate chips. =) Easiest ever, because I would never do the whole boiling and soft ball stage thing these days – too lazy! I downloaded yours to see how you do it. I can’t believe little miss is going on a year! Wow.
No movement this week other than planning for 2020!
That Santa tin is wonderful and I bet the fudge inside it is delicious. Looking forward to seeing Addison’s new quilt in the new year.
All the best with the minky, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Well I hope so!
Looks like a fun book, though I’ve given up sugar so I’ll skip the recipes. Happy Holidays!
have a very Merry Christmas to you both and your families. Thanks for the link up and that fudge looks great – I used to make fudge every year and haven’t in some time
I curled up a finished a book yesterday after baking cookies with my daughter. It was a fun diversion for the afternoon. Not much sewing going on over here, either! Your fudge looks delicious, and kudos to Sue tutoring algebra! Addison turns 1 already?? Minky isn’t too bad to work with, just use lots of pins. I actually spray basted with it and it worked well. Have fun! Merry Christmas, my friend!
I bet your fudge is yummy, Roseanne! And I can’t wait to see what you and Sue are making for Addison. Have a wonderful Christmas!
Now that fudge looks irresistible…almost as irresistible as your “sweet baby girl”! One year?? I can’t believe it…seems to me that Dominic was just one year old yesterday…time flies…
