To-Do Tuesday Linky #22 & Weekly Progress Update
Join us for the 22nd linky party post and the 142nd edition of the weekly to-do list. Thanks to everyone who linked up with us last week. Today is the first link up for 2020. Last week, we had a giveaway and the winner is Maggie. A search on Google for a random number generator gave me an easy option. It handily chose the number six and Maggie’s link-up won.
We sent Maggie some goodies to start the new year off with some quilting love.
To-Do for the week of December 31st through January 6th:
- Decide on our January OMG project – √ done
- Wrap up the Quiet Book project – √ done
- Start working on the 2020 January color block – √ done
To-Do #1
Setting the January OMG was difficult because there are so many possibilities to select from. In the end, the Geo Star Plaid quilt top called out. Luckily, I had just written about it in the Quarter Four Finish-A-Long Recap post. Kathleen left a comment and sent a suggestion about how to quilt it and bingo! Yes, I could and would use her suggestion and the OMG project was born. Woot woot!
To-Do #2
Oh yes, the Quiet Book is finished and even posted about. I think we may be replacing the shoelaces we used initially because they are kind of slippery for tying. Some nifty neon green might fit the bill – most shoelaces are so long!! I found a pair that are 30″ which still seems lengthy – we’ll see how they work. We shared a post with all the different pages and more details just last Friday if you’d care to take a peek.
To-Do #3
For the new year, Jen at Patterns by Jen has started the 2020 monthly color challenge. We did start cutting the fabrics for this beautiful yellow block. Our background fabric for this year is a solid Kona black. The yellow stands out SO nicely against the black and it doesn’t look bee-ish at all.
Extra:
Dominic was over (naturally, and with his sister!) and played with the Quiet Book with Auntie Sue. Here’s a sweet picture of him switching out the ice cream flavors – and giving Auntie Sue a lick. She doesn’t like chocolate ice cream, Dominic. You’ll have to eat those ice cream cones yourself or give it to Auntie Rose. <wink>
January OMG
Thank you to Patty’s at Elm Street Quilts and her linky party which opened on January 1st. As we shared above in to-do #1, we will be quilting our Geo Star Plaid quilt top.
To-Do for the week of January 7th through 13th:
- Piece the Winter Blues blog hop project together (starts Jan 20)
- Trace Salem Witches embroidery project
- Make another snowman table topper
Here is the linkup and just a few easy rules to follow:

You will find the link-ups displayed on a separate screen. I hope you check them out and/or add your own link!

Hi Rosanne, congratulations on getting so much done! I guess we will both be working on our Winter Blues project. Good luck with your Geo Star Plaid quilt.
Hi Roseanne – No plans for this next week – I think THINK that maybe next week, life as we never knew it will become organized. I miss my life!
Good luck on your week. Great pic of D and Sue!
Really fun things going on over here already this year! I like the yellow against the black, and that star is stunningly gorgeous. I wouldn’t have expected that kind of print to break up so nicely in a star.
Hello Roseanne, Great list that I know you will complete! My brain has been dealing with far to many emotional parts and my injured brain is not remembering what the OMG stands for. I would appreciate your friendly guidance. We lost internet last night and just got it back tonight. Strange how that played out. Glad I got to see and read your post! Have a fabulous tomorrow.
What Sue doesn’t like chocolate ice cream!!!! And you are going to make another snowman table runner already?
I forgot to say how great that yellow fabric looks with the solid black. It totally pops!
Love seeing the Quiet Book in action.
You motivated me to make a list! Thanks, because I was getting a little frozen with overwhelm(ing quilty choices). Thanks for the linkup party!
You’ve done well, getting those projects done! I’ll take a lick of that chocolate ice cream – yum!
Yay for getting all your list done! And how sweet is that boy!!!
Is it not just the BEST feeling in the world when a little loves your makes? And that picture!!
Is it not just the BEST feeling in the world when a little loves one of your makes? That picture is so so sweet.
OMG! I made the infamous To-Do-Tuesday list for this week – #3 – (wink,wink)
Bless you, Roseanne!
what a cute little boy – I have an adult nephew named Dominic – do not hear that name a lot
Good luck on your To-Do’s for the week. I think it is the shortest list I have seen you post so it will be a breeze. Love the Quiet Book. Thank you for the linky party.
Love seeing the picture of Dominic and Sue with the Quiet Book! He’s at the perfect age for that. You reminded that I want to join in with the monthly color blocks, too – will have to mentally add that to my to-do list!
Bonus photo! Thank you! I love that quiet book idea, but I fear I wouldn’t have the patience to finish it…I am the last of the great non-enders…
The quiet book looks to be a hit with the younger crew. Congrats on all the progress last week. Good luck with this week’s to do’s
Aunty Sue and Dominic – so perfect!
