To-Do Tuesday Linky #23 & Weekly Progress Update
Join us for the 23rd linky party post and the 143rd edition of the weekly to-do list. Thanks to everyone who linked up with us last week. I hope we’re all getting settled into our groove for 2020.
To-Do for the week of January 7th through 13th:
- Piece the Winter Blues – √ done
- Trace the Salem Witches embroidery project – √ done
- Make another snowman table topper – √ done
Sharing this wonderful quote this week: “Contentment is a list with half of it crossed off,” wrote Gladys Taber. Your to-do list shouldn’t make you feel stressed or inadequate if you check nothing off of it. This is supposed to be FUN! I hope to add it to each week’s message going forward.
To-Do #1
We are participating in a blog hop called Winter Blues. It starts on Monday, January 20th and runs for the entire week. Our day is Tuesday the 21st, so we need to have our project ready to go soon. We decided to make something for my sister as she just adores all things blue. Here’s a peek at a bit of the trimming associated with some half-square triangles (HSTs).
To-Do #2
When this blog first started, we went on a road trip with our friend, Carol, and picked up a nifty pattern by Crabapple Hill. That was in September 2017 – no rush, huh?! Of course, there’s a whole story behind this simple, cute, little photo but we’ll suffice it to say this overlooked project has been started. If you’d like to see the recently finished version, head over to Tracy’s blog. She finished up her quilt top right before Halloween and it took her about three years to complete it. We’re on our way!
To-Do #3
Did you happen to notice that a sweet girl (Addison) was sitting on the grandmother’s snowman table topper at her first birthday celebration? Let me remind you . . .
Now that we’ve all enjoyed some sweetness overload, let me think – what are we talking about?! Oh yeah, another table topper. Yes, we have been asked to make another topper for a friend. Luckily enough, we have JUST enough of the same fabrics to make one more. Of course, it will be sans baby and Olaf cake crumbs but that’s okay. I foresee more appliqué pieces in my very near future.
January OMG
Thank you to Patty’s at Elm Street Quilts and her linky party which opened on January 1st. Our project for this month is to quilt the Geo Star Plaid Quilt Top. I love this quilt top and cannot wait to have it complete.
To-Do for the week of January 14th through 20th:
- Start on the Project Quilting challenge – 19th – cannot wait!
- Complete the Winter Blues project (post on 20th)
- Start quilting the OMG – the month is whipping by!!
Here is the linkup and just a few easy rules to follow:
- Share your post or Instagram photo in the linky tool (but don’t share a link to your own linky party or giveaway)
- Please point your readers back here with a text link or use the button from the right sidebar
- Also, please visit and comment on other participants’ messages as time allows
You will find the link-ups displayed on a separate screen. I hope you check them out and/or add your own link!
The Linky Parties we join can be found by clicking the link above or along the sidebar on our website for more quilting fun – check out what our friends are up to. Like/follow us on our Facebook page and you can share your photos of what you’re working on. We would love to see them!
More tabletoppers! Of the quilty and cutie-pie kind! I love Crabapple Hill designs and have some older than that that I’ve started. The blue HSTs for your hop project – obvi I love them, because it’s my favourite colour. I’ll be watching to see what you two create.
And poof January will be gone in a blink, crazy isn’t it. I’m hoping to see tomorrow.
Well, you are off to a great start this year. Those blue check marks make me smile. I had a couple of checks myself, but not nearly enough. Okay, I won’t sweat it too much. Looking forward to new iterations of the snowman tabletoppers.
😉
I really like the Salem Witches embroidery project though it’s A LOT of embroidery! I don’t mind a little hand work but I don’t think I’d have that in me. Can’t wait to see it start to take shape. Take care, Mary.
Here’s to the 20th and having a stellar day on the hop! Good luck this week. I am still figuring out what I want to do!
Lots of sweetness here. Have to say I do love using the Bloc-Loc rulers!
Can’t wait to see your blue project on Tuesday!
I love your winter table topper and can understand why you have another request. To do lists keep me on course, whether I finish them or not. I have always been a list person, even when I was a child. Thanks for hosting!
I have a feeling those table toppers are a bit addictive, right? Vicki has such a talent for making a great pattern! I’m linking up today — my first! Yippee!
Crabapple Hill has wonderful patterns…so fun!
I really like the snowman table topper, Roseanne. I might really need to put that on my never-ending to-do list. 🙂
I guess some projects are like potato chips, you can’t make just one! LOL
Looking forward to your post on the hop!! The Olaf cake was adorable! See you next week!
Cant wait to see what you make for the hop. See you there. Thank you for the linky party.
I love that embroidery piece, but then again I do love anything witchy. Such a cutie with Olaf! I’m working on my Winter Blues and can’t wait to see yours.
love that Olaf cake 🙂 I am busy cutting hexies from scraps to refill my tins where I keep them stored for a quilt I am in the process of making.
The Crabapple Hill witches embroidery is so fun, Roseanne – what a project! I’ll look forward to the Winter Blues blog hop, too. Have a great day!
If you use a to do list correctly it can help with the stress levels. I’ve been using to do lists at work. Those are a lot longer than my quilting to do list (I don’t get to pick what goes on that list, my boss does). Still it’s nice to see that I’m making progress on various items. Good luck with your goals this week. Happy stitching.
The table topper is worth doing again, the blue quilt looks interesting with that little taste and yes January is moving through so time for the OMG! Although I don’t really do Halloween I think that quilt is going to be so darn cute.
