  1. I think the pandemic draws stuff out of we did no not expect whether it be good or bad. It looks like you found some good this week.

  2. Hi Roseanne and Sue. Just have to say again how much I loved the placemats. I’m sorry you didn’t get to go to the ballet but there will be another opportunity some day. 😉 Carol

Hello Roseanne, What a bummer not being able to see your Great-Niece perform. Yet, I agree with a hug for you and Sue, there is always next year. Plus, what a great honor to be able to brag about having a Niece who is a Professional Ballerina! I most likely just wrote that all wrong, sorry. Again, I do adore your placemats! You may want to check out From My Carolina Home with Carole, she has issued a challenge about creating a placemat for Meals on Wheels to help brighten this time for our elderly who are not able to get out. One of these adorable placemats would bring such smiles to one or two people. I am going to be making a few myself today! Thank you for sharing and have a fantastic day!!

    HA! Perhaps?
Sierra’s dance troupe looks lovely & graceful in the photo…hard to cancel programs – harder still for the performers.

Your placemat is just quacky and hopefully life will get back to the way we want it to be. Sorry for missing out on the ballet. Getting back to getting some sew-jo . Missing out on my granddaughter’s birthday celebration this week and can’t wait to see her next month when this is hopefully over. Meanwhile her mother asked if I made her a birthday quilt and I guess I am now.

  6. Such trying time for us all. So sorry your neice didn’t get to perform, so disappointing for all of you. Sailboat blocks are so fun!

I’ve only read two blogs this morning and both of you have joined me in not having a great week getting sewing done. This virus is changing our world right now. At least you got one project done. Good for you!

Those placemats are AWESOME! Many quilters I know have lost their sewing mojo right now. Fear tends to wither creativity unfortunately. Cyber hugs to you both!

  9. Denise says:

The placemats are adorable, I love them.Sorry to hear the ballet was cancelled and you lost your inspiration. I’ve been sewing and quilting enough for us both. Thank you for the linky party.

  10. Love the placemats and the cross hatch quilting is perfect! The sailboat is lovely and I am so sorry you missed niece’s performance. It is quite a sad time, for those who had big plans. Stay safe, my friends.

Hi Kathleen! It seems I am not getting an email when you leave a comment. I thank you for the kind words. We can catch the ballet next year, hopefully. At least everyone is safe. Stay healthy and safe yourself, please. ~smile~ Roseanne

  11. Your placemats turned out so cute! I know the kiddos will love them! I like your sailboat block, too. Hope all is well with you and Sue and your family, Roseanne!

  12. Thanks so much for the birthday wishes! Glad you made that Mayflower block with its gorgeous fabric. And those placemats are so much fun!

  13. So sad the ballet was cancelled — I LOVE Chicago — especially downtown! Love love those placemats- I was looking through my old applique patterns trying to find something similar to make for Evelyn.

  14. Roseanne, you are always so busy! I love the quackers and the sailboat:). But I especially love the elegance of your niece on point. I’m sorry you didn’t get the opportunity to enjoy the ballet this year. The next time
Will be all the more special. Stay healthy my friend❤️❤️

  15. Sorry the ballet got cancelled. I like that sailboat block–certainly the wind blows all directions? Good luck on your to-do’s, and OMGosh, is it already time for March completions?!? I’d ask “where did the month go?!?!” but I think we all know!

  16. Sharon says:

Cute placemats! Hope your sewing inspiration returns soon. We are in a big life bump right now,(not just a bump in the road) so understandable our mindset is not always normal at this time.

  17. Those placemats are adorable! Sorry you had to miss the ballet, and for your niece. I’m sure this is very hard for her.

  18. Kate says:

Both placements turned out really cute. Love that you named them. Hope your stitching mojo returns, I’ve struggled with mine the last week too. Take care.

  19. Lovely placemats, I love your duck, so cute and fun! Pretty sailboat block too, beautiful fabrics, looks like they are shinning.
