To-Do Tuesday Linky #37 & Weekly Progress Update
Join us for the 37th linky party post and the 157th weekly to-do list. Thanks to everyone who linked up with us last week. “Contentment is a list with half of it crossed off,” wrote Gladys Taber.
To-Do for the week of April 14th through 20th:
- Sew the binding on the giraffe growth chart – √ done
- Work on an Easter table topper – √ done
- Feel accomplished because I sewed something! – √ done
Yo, yo, yo. Zoe the giraffe growth chart is all complete. We are still waiting for the little star-shaped buttons to mark every growth notation. Each one of our littles will have their own color to easily follow their increase from year-to-year. I think sweet little Addison will be amazed that she was the longest of the three at birth! ♥ ♥
Our Easter table topper is too late for the 2020 Easter season. However, it is fabulously early for 2021 so we’ll look at it from that perspective. We found this gorgeous plaid fabric bursting with all the Spring colors . . . and that started the creative wheels to spin.
Unlike the recent snowman and penguin table toppers, this is going to have one solid piece of fabric in the center. Being a bit OCD, each side of the hexagon has to match exactly. My initial template was just a wee too bit loose in the dimension department for me. After pulling out the ruler and using precise, detailed drawings made for a much better template. Stay tuned for more to come on this project . . .
Not only did the aforementioned projects get completed but we also started a new project using this ABC charm pack on the left.
I also made a mocha chocolate cheesecake (Recipe) for Andrea and Chris who had given up sweets for Lent. No baking involved this time!
I also got my hummingbird feeder cleaned and hung after being filled with a simple sweet syrup. Note to self: I make it using 1/2 cup of sugar and two cups of water – boil in the microwave for 3.5 minutes. I’m looking forward to seeing them visiting the feeder – I think it may be time for the scout hummer to be out looking for food. Who knows?!!
I have come up with a way to quilt it by spending oodles of time pondering. First, I drew it on a photo on the computer which worked okay.
Thankfully, while drawing on the plexiglass over the actual quilt top I came *near* but not *off* the edge. I like to try to figure out a continuous stitching plan BEFORE I get to the machine – this is going to be a combination of ruler work and FMQ, I believe. In my head, anyway.
To-Do for the week of April 21st through 27th:
Finally! An end to March – this has been a very long month.
- Layer and quilt the April OMG project – do I have the energy for this??!
- Cut out the Easter center template – start applique?!
- Continue working on the new charm pack project – leader/ender maybe
