To-Do Tuesday Linky #57 & Weekly Progress Update
Join us for the 57th linky party post and the 177th weekly to-do list. Gladys Taber wrote, “Contentment is a list with half of it crossed off.”
To-Do for the week of September 1st through 7th:
- Celebrate Dominic’s birthday – √ done
- Celebrate Labor Day – a day off work! – √ done
- Pieces From the Past – Indian Star block – √ done
To-Do #1
We had a great time celebrating Dominic’s birthday. It was a fun evening and we gave him his truck quilt for his big boy bed. We were thrilled with his spontaneous gesture of hugging the quilt when he opened it. We’re calling it a big win/win.
To-Do #2
A day off work is a rare gem and we both enjoyed every second of Labor Day. We did some sewing, some reading, and extra time with Sue’s mom over coffee. On our third-quarter finish-along list is this snowman table runner that received a bit of attention. Up next is layering and then quilting although that can wait until the fourth quarter.
Love #3
The Pieces From the Past sew-along that Melva is hosting is releasing another block later this week. Sue picked out the fabrics for me and I sewed it together in no time after checking the layout first.
Indian Star is the most recent block and pattern that we needed to finish this week so we’re all caught up.
Check out Melva’s website where she shares a letter her grandparent’s received after WWII from POW’s who had worked on their farm. The letters are true treasures of history.
September OMG
Thank you to Patty’s at Elm Street Quilts and her monthly linky party. This month our plan is to layer, quilt, and bind the Wonky Wonk quilt.
To-Do for the week of September 8th through 14th:
- Get back to work on the red/white/blue runner
- Start appliqueing a flower runner for us
- Decide on the quilting design for Wonky
Here is the linkup and just a few easy rules to follow:
- Share your post or Instagram photo in the linky tool
- Please do not share a link to your own linky party or giveaway or promotion for your newest pattern release
- Please point your readers back here with a text link or use the button from the right sidebar
- Finally, please visit and comment on other participants’ messages as your time allows
You will find the link-ups displayed on a separate screen. I hope you check them out and/or add your own link! I’m looking forward to seeing what everyone else has made this week.
The Linky Parties we join can be found by clicking the link above or along the sidebar on our website for more quilting fun – check out what our friends are up to. Like/follow us on our Facebook page and you can share your photos of what you’re working on. We would love to see them!
I like your snowman runner. Too Cute! I’m not sure if it’s just me, but no pictures are showing up on your linky party. All the links to get to the blog and the names are there.
Happy Birthday, Dominic! What a cute photo of him love’n on that quilt! A sure win for all of you!
I knew he’s love it!

Hi Roseanne, it looks like Dominic loves his new quilt. What a wonderful treasure to grow up with – covered in love! That snowman runner is so cute. Good luck with your projects! Take care.
That pic of Dominic hugging his quilt is wonderful. Best Littles pic ever!
Dominic hugging his quilt is precious. I think that needs to be framed and hang in your sewing room.
That’s the best photo of Dominic hugging his quilt!! Glad you enjoyed a relaxing Labour Day; we did too.
Hi,
Yea on the the Big Boy quilt…that picture of the hug is awesome. I really like the
Snowman runner…so pretty. Have a great day!
A big round of applause!! Who could ask for a better thank you than that for a quilted gift. So glad you had time to kick back and relax a bit and enjoy coffee with Sue’s mom. And to get in some sewing. Love that snowman runner and Melva’s block is so beautiful.
Oh my goodness — your hearts must be overflowing!! I’m so glad that Dominic loves his new quilt! 🙂
Aw, how can you not just smile at Dominic’s quilt hug! That makes all that piecing and quilting worth every darn second, yes?? Love the snowman runner and look forward to seeing how you quilt it!
That is the best compliment you could have received, so happy to see he loved it. I have thought about what his reaction would be over the weekend. I love Sue’s color choices for the Indian Block. Can’t wait to see what you decide on the quilting. Thank you for the linky party, I accomplished a lot over my 4 day weekend. Unfortunately there were just so many finishes I didn’t want to spend the time it would have required to photograph each one.
Dominic looks so cute with his quilt — I bet that was a special moment for you and Sue ♥ I love the snowman table runner!
I love seeing Dominic with his quilt – that is so cute – you do not hear the name Dominic too often and I don’t know if I mentioned I have a nephew with that name – but he is a bit older than yours! (by far at 50)
Your patriotic block is gorgeous, congratulate Sue on her fabric selection! I love the pic of Dominic with his quilt, too cute.
Such a sweet response from Dominic! Love the runner and Melva’s block. It will be fun to see your quilting.
Dominic hugging that quilt made my day!!!! Love love love! Love that snowman table runner! So sweet! Have a great day!
Your picture of Dominic and his quilt is precious, Roseanne! And you get to mark other things off your list, too – looks like you had a good week, and so glad you enjoyed your Labor Day, too!
Such a great reaction with Dominic! Makes all the effort so worth it and I’d feel so appreciated if I were you! It is a damn fine truck quilt…I love it!
Looks like Dominic was pretty happy with his quilt. Having an extra home day this week did help a lot with getting the to do list all checked off. You’ve got some fun projects to work on this week. Happy stitching!
Dominic’s response is so priceless and heartwarming. I love your version of Melva’s latest block. Good luck determining the quilting plan for Wonky Wonk. Can’t wait to see what you do!
