To-Do Tuesday Linky #59 & Weekly Progress Update
Join us for the 59th linky party post and the 179th weekly to-do list. Gladys Taber wrote, “Contentment is a list with half of it crossed off.”
To-Do for the week of September 15th through 21st:
- Continue working on the Flower Power runner – √ done
- Layer and quilt the Easter hexagon topper – √ done
- Start quilting Wonky Wonk – √ done
To-Do #1
I wasn’t thrilled about making this runner at first but it has quickly become one of my favorite projects ever. Having been middle-school students for the original flower power of the 70s, these fabrics and flowers seem to be even better than I recall. We are definitely going to get this to the finished quilt top stage in the next week so I foresee more appliquéing in my very near future as it needs three more borders to be added.
To-Do #2
Another quarter three project is the Easter hexagon table topper was a focus for this week. Happily, it is a quick and easy project to quilt and then bind. I’ll leave you with a peek at the quilting which is different in each separate area. In the center, I did a random small stipple while in the narrow borders a ribbon-ish stitch seemed perfect. Finally, in the wide outer border, I chose a simple loop-de-loop stitch. All three bunnies were left unquilted.
Love #3
Wonky quilting seems just so fitting for the Wonky Wonk quilt, don’t you think? The quilting is going very quickly so this should be an easy finish by the end of the week. That will make for a sweet September OMG project completion as well as a quarter three finish. Woot woot!
September OMG
Thank you to Patty’s at Elm Street Quilts and her monthly linky party. Our project this month is to layer, quilt, and bind the Wonky Wonk quilt. It is on target to be a finish.
To-Do for the week of September 22nd through 28th:
- Finish up the red/white/blue table runner
- Layer and quilt Andrea’s snowman runner
- Finish the next block in Melva’s Pieces From the Past SAL

Oh! I’m loving how the Flower Power Table Topper is coming along! Beautiful! Yes, the wonky quilting is perfect for a wonky quilt! 🙂
Roseanne, you have such a knack for picking the perfect quilting for each of your projects! I can’t wait to see more of the bunny quilt, the wavy organic lines are PERFECT on the wonky quilt, and your Flower Power runner looks like so much fun. Also your mention of September OMG startled me to attention, because YIKES, September is nearly finished and NO, my OMG is NOT!!
I love the big flowers so so much! I like how they break the borders a little bit. And that border! Love it too!
I do love your Flower Power runner. So bright and definitely reminiscent of days gone by. Your quilting on Wonky Wonk is so “just right” I think.
Ooh, those flowers!! Can’t wait to see how this gets finished. And bunnies!!! Who can resist bunnies!!!
Flower Power does have that 60s vibe. I do love the curvy quilting on Wonky Wonk. Loved it last week, but now with the more quilting and lines over lapping – wonderful!
You are making progress on each of your projects!!! YEAH!!! Way to go! The flower power table runner will be nice and cheerful ! And the bunny topper … by not quilting the bunnies, they will pop and be the star of the show (which you want!) And Wonky quilting is SEW fun! Love it!
Happy Quilting! 🙂
The flower runner is cheery and fun and great quilting on both projects!
Hello Roseanne, I adore your flower applique runner that you are sharing! You must be having so much fun with this project, along with the fantastic free motion quilting that you are doing on the two other projects! Such excellent progress you are making on each one of these…how many new projects do you have started to replace all of these that you will have finished so quickly? Quilting is such a marvelous part of our lives. What was it we did with our time before we discovered fabrics and quilting? LOL. Have a spectacular day!
Can’t wait to see the finished Wonky Wonk Quilt!
Hi,
Love the Flower Power runner…so pretty. Have a great day!
Good luck with your week! You did well last week checking off things…I think the fall air makes me a little more productive…you?
Adorable table runner!
Love that flower power you’ve got going!
What a bundle of color and joy. Can’t wait to see the completion of Flower Power. It is a day brightener for sure. The Easter topper is looking great. You have such great ideas for the quilting. I love the wonky quilting for the wonky quilt. Completing so many projects must make you feel great. Have a good rest of the week.
So much fun in this post Roseanne! The wonky lines are perfect, that bunny table topper is looking absolutely adorable, but that flower power runner is just too groovy for words! I, too, grew up in that era and it all comes flooding back when I see things like this. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
Will you be keeping your flower power for yourselves? I hope so, it will be perfect to bring it our next spring to brighten your spirits. And you are branching out with your quilting designs, good for you! I hope to get a To Do Tuesday post done later today or for tomorrow morning.
great projects! i too really like that flower power!
I like those curvy lines you quilted.
Well done, you! I have to say, that Flower Power runner is just too darn cute, and definitely throwing out 70s vibes! Love that wavy quilting too!

Great list, Roseanne! Love those colorful, uplifting blooms! 🙂
Love that Flower Power table runner, it’s very fun and colorful. Good luck with this week’s to do list. You’ve set your self up for a really successful finish to the third quarter.
Flower Power definitely takes me back to 60s! So much fun! And the organic quilting on Wonky Wonk is perfect. Have a great day, Mary.
I love your floral quilt!! Wowee that is a nice piece! Wonky wonk is a good way to use up squares, isn’t it? Have to keep that in my idea box! Love the colors in the Easter piece!
