Weekly To-Do #42 End of January
Happy Birthday Carol and Janice! We hope you each have a fabulous birthday! This is our 42nd edition of our weekly to-do list and the last one for January. I share this post on Beth’s Cooking Up Quilts website on Monday, and Tuesday’s linky party can be found on Christine’s Stitch All the Things website. ~smile~
To-Do Tuesday for the week January 22nd through 28th:
- Sew a couple of Regatta Quilt strips – √ done
- Start on the Fluffer project – √ done
- Start quilting the Grandma’s Kitchen table runner – √ done
I did indeed sew a few more strips together for the Regatta Quilt. I’m a few ahead as well, since I sewed rows 4, 7, and 8. Thankfully I noticed BEFORE I incorrectly skipped over rows 5 and 6. Sue asked ME how they got out of order! Like I went over to her area and messed them up . . . humph. I believe we have sections A and B together now. Twelve rows at any rate, or six of the nineteen solid colored strips.
Our friends Cindy at In a Stitch Quilting and Tracy at It’s A T-Sweets Day are hosting a Mystery Quilt Along. There is really only one requirement for this QAL, and that is to use Fluffer Nutter fabric by Moda. We have cut a few strips to start our Fluffer & Picnic project.
I guess from this photo you really have no idea what we’re going to do with these strips. Maybe we don’t either! HAHA! I sure do like these two colors together though. Very nice . . .
The table runner was constructed last week, and my task for this week was quilting. I was able to get it all quilted using a variety of techniques. Straight-line stitching and ruler work were combined on this runner. It ended up a good size, and I will share all the details in a post later this week. I’ll also share what I learned on my first major attempt with rulers. I will definitely use them again – there is a learning curve but not such a steep one that it is daunting.
January OMG Goal:
Our January OMG goal is to completely finish the Dr Seuss commission quilt this month. This is already finished – can you even believe it?! I posted our message about meeting this challenge on Elm Street Quilts January Finish the first day we could. Hmm, now what should we do for February?!
To-Do January 29th through February 4th:
- Sew another couple of strips for the Regatta
- Finish the Love Quilt a.k.a. Nobody’s Perfect coined by Sue
- Determine our February OMG
- Watch the Super Bowl – well, halftime at least
I wish you a week filled with many blessings and good sewing/quilting vibes!
