New for the week is the Kitchen Door, block #12 in the Grandma’s Kitchen quilt-along. I really don’t see how this relates to a kitchen door . . . but I love pinwheels so I will happily make it. Here is another example of a block just using half-square triangles. My new favorite squares. ~smile~
#2
I Wish You A Merry quilt-along also released a block on Tuesday. It is a snowman and is the fifth block in the series:

The Love You to the Moon baby quilt is finished. I shared a post with you on Wednesday showing the finished piece. I actually did some free-motion quilting on it. Just swirls, loops and a couple of free hand stars but it sure is easier with this new sewing table. I picked up some quilting gloves too which will make it much easier to move that quilt around next time! What you didn’t get to see in Wednesday’s post is Dominic ON his quilt because Mr. two-weeks-old didn’t have it until Saturday:
I think we’re all over the moon over Dominic, not just his grandma. ~smile~ (You didn’t think I wouldn’t sneak in a picture of him somehow, did you?!!)

The embroidery is complete in pink only with deep purple in the bobbin thread. Sue did most of these hearts herself on the Brother machine. It wasn’t her favorite job, but she got it done like a champ. Now I have to figure out what the do in the other blocks, and we have to get more purple thread . . .
#5
Our Play Ball quilt is making quite a bit of headway. It is all together in a quilt top. Now to quilt it. I want to add Dominic’s name to the border, too, since it is for him. ~smile~

I found a journal I liked on my friend Amazon’s website. I could have searched out Barnes and Noble, Target or Office Depot/Max to find one but it is so much easier to just look online. We are going to cover the journal with bicycle fabric for my boss. Maybe. Sue thinks the journal is too nice to cover – she thinks we need to find an ‘ugly’ journal to cover. Oh, okay. So I don’t know where we are on that?!
EXTRA: We purchased the fabric for plenty of microwave cozies . . . along with a Batman onesie. We will be back to making those cozies soon.
To-Do September 18th through 24th:
- Sew block #13 in the Grandma’s Kitchen QAL
- Finish quilting the Princess quilt
- Start quilting Play Ball
- Start piecing Garden Gate quilt

Oh, I so love baby pictures… and he makes that quilt even more adorable than it already is! GREAT progress last week!
Christine – the quilt isn’t really all that great but he makes it special. ~smile~ Roseanne
ALL your work is beautiful, but that baby steals the show. Loved your snowman block. I need to catch up IF we can keep the hurricanes away.
Hi Peggy! He does certainly steal our hearts so I’m just going to keep sharing his pictures as often as I can. All these hurricanes are nuts! R
Happy to see pictures of the little guy anytime.
