Wisconsin Quilt Expo – September 2017
I thought it would only be fair to mention that Madison, Wisconsin is hosting the Wisconsin Quilt Expo. It starts on Thursday, September 7th and finishes on Saturday, September 9th. Madison is just a short two hour drive away for us (not counting road construction). This is sponsored by Wisconsin Public Television with Nancy Zieman. The offer several different types of interesting lectures, sit & sew workshops and hands-on workshops. They even have a couple of evening events!
There are several lectures and workshops that I would love to attend! One, called Design That! Quilt with EQ7 sounds really like something I would like. It is held at an off-site location which may or may not be handy! Another workshop called Free Motion Quilting With Rulers is hands-on using a Bernina sewing machine. Several of the lectures also sound interesting, although some are only offered on Thursday or Friday. I don’t think I’ll be able to take a day off work to attend although I would love to!
Wisconsin Quilt Expo Details
All three days, the Expo opens at 9am. Both Thursday and Friday, the Expo closes at 6pm while on Saturday it closes at 5pm. You may purchase advance tickets until September 4th. They offer a $2 savings off the price at the door. One day tickets are only $8. Additional charges are incurred for lectures and workshops.
I wasn’t aware of the Expo until a blogger friend of mine from Minnesota asked if I was going to attend. After doing a bit of research, I found it was odd that we hadn’t heard about it in previous years. I’m not certain if Vicky from MN is attending or not, but I would love to meet her if she does attend. What about you? Do you plan on attending?
Our Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link for more quilting fun. Check out what our friends are up to. Like/follow us on our Facebook page and share your latest quilting project. We’d love to see them!
The plan at this point is that I am going. The first day of the show for sure.
Hi Vicki! I’m positive I cannot go on Thursday unfortunately. I am hoping to be able to go on Friday though. Do you plan on taking any classes or signing up for any lectures? Roseanne
