Woodland Quilts, Whitewater, WI
It was time for a mini road trip to another quilt shop. We were on the way to see a local theater production of Beauty and the Beast, and the four us popped in Woodland Quilts in Whitewater, Wisconsin on the way. We were going practically right by . . . just a few blocks out of the way . . . and they were having a huge sale. Come on – they almost paid us to come through the door!
And a friendly door to come through it was. The owner, Cheryl, greeted us as soon as we opened the door – telling us all about the huge sale and specials that were being offered that day. Woodland Quilts is a small shop, but it fits a lot of punch with fun quilting materials within those walls. It is very well organized, offers a lot of models, and has large selection of fabric, patterns, and supplies. As we proceeded through the shop, I noticed there was an area set aside for classes with about nine sewing machines set up for friends to use.
We found this cute pattern by Elizabeth Hartman called Fancy Fox II, and this new fabric that Cheryl said she just got in yesterday. ~smile~ A friend of our is about to have her third baby, a boy that is loving referred to as a little fox. Well . . . how could we resist this pattern and fabric, knowing a little fox is about to be born?! We’ll have to whip up something cute for them before he arrives. ~smile~
We couldn’t poke around as long as we might have liked to since we were due to be seated for lunch before the show began, so we cut our visit short. We all commented that we would definitely visit again, as the shop had a lot of offer and it wasn’t too far of a drive. You can find more about Woodland Quilts if you click here. Cheryl said she was going to be cutting back her hours in January to being closed Sunday – Tuesday to enjoy her grandchildren. I’ll be sharing our finished fox project as soon as it is complete – oh, and after it has been shared with mom and baby, of course!
