Yes – Beothuk Eight Blocks Together
Yes, yes, yes. Are you imagining Meg Ryan in When Harry Met Sally? Nope, that’s not quite the inflection I was going for but very close. To say we rocked it in the sewing room yesterday would be a complete understatement. We R-O-C-K in the USA‘d it. Despite not having all the 96 HSTs trimmed Saturday morning and working on them in between quilting and sewing, we did get our two eight blocks finished. And before the next instructions come out on Wednesday for another eight blocks. This deserves a definite Woot-Woot!
I added the trimming of these half square triangles to our To-Do list two weeks in a row. THIS week there will be a big check next to that To-Do in tomorrow’s update. Yes, yes, yes. Sue started working on the block layouts for me and puts them on an unused large ruler to pass over to me.
Honestly, we both double-check the layout because I have been known to switch things around somehow. Once it is given the go-ahead nod, sewing commences.
Ta-da Beothuk Eight #1
Here are the first eight blocks of our Beothuk blocks. One block was fashioned from the original diamond-patterned fabric, while the other used the yellow pull. Details on our fabric choices, etc. can be found in A Beothuk QAL Update post.
Another two colorways will be shared in about one week since we know that is our next assignment from Sandra at mmm Quilts. Sandra also shares a fabulous recap of the Beothuk tribe on her blog. We’ll be linking up today, joining our friends who are sharing their first eight blocks. Check it out! I’m certain you will see some wonderful fabrics in play.
Our other Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link above or along the sidebar on our website for more quilting fun – check out what our friends are up to. Like/follow us on our Facebook page and you can share your photos of what you’re working on. We would love to see them!
